Alaska Raceway had their Test n Tune at the drag strip today so I took the Vibe out there and the wife of course ran her Legacy GT. I was suppose to meet my friend JC there with his Matrix and he was suppose to run against me. He never showed lol Well that had me teamed up against trucks and subarus. I did a total of 8 runs. 2 I did as solo runs as no one was staging up beside me. I raced my friend Alex with his 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport with WRX engine/turbo swap. I didn't beat him obviously. Here are my best times2004 base Vibe 5spd with catback magnaflow exhaust and Injen cold air intake.R/T .320960 ft 2.9020330ft 7.5967594ft 10.64981/8 ET 11.33261/8 MPH 65.901/4 ET 17.23591/4 MPH 82.72Which was better then I was thinking I would do. I need to stop being lazy and get my unichip retuned and installed. I'm sure it would put me in the 15s easy... all the low end torque. Of course a ton of Subarus and hondas out there. And those big old muscle beasts.Pics to follow when they get uploaded. Also got some videos.

still did well. at least you drove down in style. that fusion vibe was dead SEXAY! lolit's really a shame you didn't get to square up with the neon or some of the hondas, or your buddy's S-10. I think you'd have either beat them or it'd have been a very very close race! Phil's Time slips (Base 5 spd, Injen CAI, Magnaflow exhaust). The first one they put the wrong #. He's #8457:I'm working on uploading pics. there are a lot b/w both our cameras. i had a great time, finally got to beat Phil racing! lol. even if it was on a straight course vs twists and turns on a road course.I ran A LOT today (car #8458), so i could work on my launch and try and figure out the whole timing thing. my best run was 13.9082 and the next after that was against a red WRX stg 2 and then some. last run of the day, i thought i'd lost, but i just squeaked by him (see second slip). This is a MAJOR improvement over last year's (car #8144) stock runs, my best at 15.0391 sec vs a Mustang. Last Year (stock with gutted OEM uppipe):Best run (gutted OEM uppipe, midpipe, downpipes and TDC protuned Stg 2):Last run of the day (I JUST beat him. check out my reaction time. my best ever):
the vibe. too bad JC chickened out! would have been a great race! unfortunately, phil usually ran the same time i was also running so i couldn't get a lot of pics. i did get some vids, but i'll have to figure out how to d/l them and capture some pics from there too.
Incase people are wondering... that last pic of the my ricing slips is right next to my speeding ticket I got the same day... yeah... ironic I got caught speeding while on my way to the track.

they were amazing. actually, i didn't see which car/thing it was, but there was one that did a 7.8 or something! holy crap! now that's FAST! Fo SHO! lol
phil has a base MT w/ CAI and magnaflow exhaust. running low 17.2's. auto i'd say probably high 17's to low 18's stock. with some mods, probably mid-high 17's. stock GT runs in the mid-high 16's i believe, but with a few mods, mid-high 15's. but vibegtcouple posted their time slips and they ran low 15's in their GT. only had cai and exhaust i think. i wish i had run my VGT before i got rid of it just to see. but once we get the unichip retuned and installed (if phil ever gets around to it) then i think he'll be high 16's in the base MT. he'd still whoop up on the trucks (most of them) and the little neons and the po-po car that was out there running mid 16's.

well even you are beating Alex with his swap so yeah. me not wanting to race an LGT is like you not liking it when your matched up against a 10 second car.

so, i wanted to get pictures!!!!!! it didn't matter if i won, because if i hadn't then that would mean something would be wrong with the LGT and you'd be really pissed at me! lol!PHOTO OPP!!!! so next time, we're gonna race so i can get some pics of BOTH of us at the same time!!!!
don't worry mav, (no offense hope) but i like the way your car looks much better! also, when you need to haul a washer or something, you could have it home before she could call a friend with a truck to come help out!so, when is the STI in the plans?

Thats when I knew I needed new car! Here are my 3 runs! one low 18 the rest high 18's.... close to 17 on 1st run...http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=10741

Im waiting to get a CAI for it but only 1 out so far http://www.doctorspeed.com/pon....html I sent Injen an e-mail and they replied back asking if I was interested in letting them use my car to make one. Not sure cause they are about 2 hours away I would like to take it as soon as I get that. Maybe I could get my friends together to go soon for a before and after.

OUCH! they sure want a lot for that! what kinda increases are they talking about?? i can't imagine it being all that much on the G6, not like on the vibes. i'm sure it'd sound cool though! loli want (WANT is the operative word here) to get a full TBE, intercooler, and lightweight racing rims and possibly better tires. however, i doubt that will happen any time soon unless i get some kind of SCREAMING deal (like practically free or i trade someone for them...)

He said its more for looks than performance to get the whole tubing. I believe the gains where around 10hp or 7 but not sure.
