Based on the great success we had with a mini GenVibe meet at today's Philadelphia Auto Show, we're organizing another meet for the bigger, more spectacular (than Philly) New York Auto Show!Nick plans to drive out from Ohio, so he and I have settled on a date of Saturday, April 10, 2004. We're hoping to attract a few more GenVibers who can attend with us and make the experience awesome! If you're interested in attending, post here.I personally plan to take NJ Transit into the city (no NYC driving for me!!!), I imagine Nick will join along with me, so anyone interested in joining us, post here!Hoping to hear from you Reynoma and Nova!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
If I was around, buddy, i'd drive you in. I have no problems braving NYC traffic. But alas..I will probably still be out of state.

Ok, I know we have a few people joining us from out of state for the show. I've put together a few hotels in the area that seem like good places to stay.Ragingfish Recommends:Courtyard Cranbury South Brunswick420 Forsgate DriveCranbury, NJ 08512Standard Rate: $79.00 / niteAAA/CAA Rate: $71.10 / nite(Free high-speed internet access, indoor pool/whirlpool) NOTE: The New Jersey Turnpike is Interstate 95 in this part of the state.=================================================Residence Inn Cranbury South Brunswick2662 Route 130 Cranbury, NJ 08512Standard Rate: $89.00 / niteAAA/CAA Rate: $80.00 / nite(Free high-speed internet access, indoor pool/whirlpool)=================================================Comfort Suites at Woodbridge1275 US 1 SouthAvenel, NJStandard Rate: $89.99 / niteAAA/CAA Rate: $80.99 / niteInternet Rate: $80.99 / nite(Free high-speed internet access)=================================================Hampton Inn Woodbridge, NJ370 Route 9 NorthWoodbridge, New Jersey 07095Standard Rate: $79.00 / niteAAA/CAA Rate: $71.10 / nite(Free high-speed internet access)I recommend the first hotel! Good area, good rates, NICE hotel! Woodbridge and Avenel are not BAD areas, but Cranbury is MUCH nicer, more suburban.

What are you guys planning on doing there? Will you be able to display your cars at the auto show? I don't quite understand, sorry.

This might too late to suggest. If you are planning on takin the train into NYC for the auto show, you should consider staying close to the Metropark Amtrak Train Station in Iselin, NJ. That station is only a 38 minute ride to NYC, and it has a $ parking deck that is secure. Plus there are more things happening around that area than in Cranbury, NJ. Just my 2 cent.
I'd go if I could but I work that saturday... and I took enough saturdays off this summer for various meets... can't take another at the moment... Have fun guys and bring back lots of pics.

Ran into problems migrating to the new software, but I was able to get a temporary gallery going. http://www.ragingfish.com/gall...41004/First page is mostly NYC sightseeing, including the Wall Street, the World Trade Center site, Times Square, and a cool restaurant called Mars 2112. Then, nothing but cars! Will hopefully have the new gallery going by the weekend...My favorite shot of the day:

thanks mike! the new tacoma xrunner looks absolutely SWEET! ooooh.... may have to think about one of those later down the road..... instead of the tundra...
There were at least two world premiers at this show: The Lincoln Zephyr and Lexus LF-C. Neither of them are in my pics. I believe Nick got shots of both. If not, I think maddigital on MatrixOwners got shots of them...I should also mention that the Solstice you see there is the production model. That is what you will be seeing on the roads in just a short time...One of the only things I noticed different between the concept and production model are the tailpipe. In concept, it was a double-tipped pipe stacked vertically in the rear center of the car. In production, it's a single exhaust on the rear right. I like the production better personally.

oooh! that is soooo priceless! thanks, ms. j. that just made my day! ha ha ha!just curious, how does that affect your driving record in canada? does it at all???
Quote, originally posted by AtWork »It's sort of a crapshoot .. my driving record as far as my license is untouched, BUT my insurance company might find out.. and that's where it really hurts...Great pic eh hehe well i would think that the US system is diff from Canada. i know it also varies from state to state.... because my ex got a ticket in NC when driving to his grandparents. didn't affect the ins or his license, thank god! so... don't ask don't tell.
OK - I finally got my picture gallery posted from the NYC trip. Most of the shots are from NYC and only a few from the auto show. If you want to see pics of the auto show, see ragingfish's post above for his big pic gallery. I also have 4 short video clips uploaded (end of page 2). Here's the link:Click here for the GalleryMy indoor shots came out pretty bad (time for a new camera ) -- unfortunately it didn't accidentally fall on the ground that day. BTW, this is my favorite pic here (WARNING: hideous alien present!) (And no, I'm not in the pic, so don't try to be funny )

And nice pics... being honest the new Vibe design doesn't look tooo bad in black but I still like the old design a lot better.
