The crash happened at about 5:23 a.m. on Route 114/Route 125 in front of the Merrimack College hockey rink, said North Andover Police Sergeant Gene Salois. The victim was in one of two cars that were involved in the accident, along with a box truck.The road has been closed so police can investigate, Salois said.A white Pontiac Vibe with right rear damage, a bronze Acura RSX with front-end damage, and a truck with a burned-out cab were still at the accident scene this morning.A number of local fire and police vehicles were also at the scene, along with the van from the state medical examiner's office, and state highway department trucks.Around the cars, wreckage was strewn all over the road, including auto parts, skis, a duffel bag full of clothes, a hardhat, and orange safety gear.

Leclerc was dead at the scene of the accident when rescue crews arrived, police said.At about 5:30 a.m., police received several 911 calls reporting a major accident on Route 114 between Merrimack College and the Royal Crest Estates. When police arrived at the scene, they found Leclerc dead and the truck -- an electrical supplies delivery for Rexel -- engulfed in flames.The driver of the truck, Thomas Dantoni, 50, also of Manchester, N.H., fled from the truck's cab before it caught fire and did not sustain any serious injuries. A third car was involved, a Pontiac driven by Brent Thompson, 40, of Chester, N.H. Thompson also escaped without any major injuries and were taken to Lawrence General Hospital by the North Andover Fire Department.Police shut down Route 114 eastbound and westbound for a few hours, resulting in massive traffic backups all over the area. Police are still investigating the accident and will release information as it becomes available.There is a member here named Brent Thompson, BrentRN, a zeroposter who was in New London PA when he joined back in 2006, based on age, I'd say not the same guy

that was one big smack the vibe took --- looks like the RSX almost went right through it

How in the world did that guy survive that wreck in the Vibe? WOW!

Actually, I'm thinking the Vibe driver was lucky...that part of the car looks to be the only survivable part. Had there been a passenger(s), they're most likely critically injured (or worse). Cougar Vibe

WOW that's a lot of missing car...(PS what's the deal with those taillights? They don't look stock... I kind of like them. Unless that's what they look like AFTER the cover pops off from a giant accident...)
