SPOTTED: Neptune Vibe southbound I 90 / I 39 in Wisconsin 05.22.10

I was driving southbound on I 90 / I 39 yesterday on my way home from the Wisconsin Dells when I happened to look in my mirror and see a Vibe coming up behind me. It was about 4:30 PM. It was Neptune, older model, did not have a front plate, had tinted windows (tint looked slightly purplish), had some special blue Indiana plate on the rear and appeared to be lowered. It seemed to be only the driver, no passengers but a bunch of stuff in the cargo area. I looked right at him/her and they weren't even looking in my direction so I'm assuming they're not on here since I have a GenVibe sticker on my hatch glass, but figured I would check anyway .I also saw a Mystic Blue base model heading the opposite way on my way to the Dells on Friday. I also caught a glimpse of an older bright orange Vibe with yellow flames. I couldn't tell if it was custom or perhaps a vehicle for a business or something, but either way it was pretty bright and definitely grabbed my attention.

I was looking for you and Michelle a few weeks ago, J. I was in the Dells for a wedding, and I went right through Chi-Town, Schaumburg, Rockford, etc. I was constantly searching for your stickers. Alas... Kind of strange, seeing how many of us are on here and I drive in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New York regularly.

If I ever saw another GenVibe member driving around I would probably crash ! I am always looking at other Vibes, but no one ever returns my wave or the "V" that my mom and I do (aka peace sign ). I am way out in the Boonies so you probably wouldn't have seen me, but that sure would have been funny if you did . This is why it's useful to have the GenVibe sticker.

I was probably lame and parked at home, like I always am b/c I have no life. And yeah, most Vibe owners don't even look at me... I was parked right behind an AWD '09 filling up at the gas station and was sooooo excited... but the lady didn't even so much as turn around so I could say "Nice Car"...alas. But there's a zillion vibes up here, the husband and I are getting sore shoulders from doing the "Punch Vibey"

Today I saw a Gen 1 Neptune Vibe heading north on IL53 with the license plate GDVIBE1 and lots of bumper stickers... that license plate sounded so familiar...

But there's a zillion vibes up here, the husband and I are getting sore shoulders from doing the "Punch Vibey" There was a young girl in an '09 Mystic Blue base at Target a while back. My mom and I parked next to her. As we were going to get out of the car, she came out to get in hers. I said "Nice car!" She laughed and said, "You too!" That was the best day of my life! I was so distracted by her kindness that I forgot to get a picture though .Quote, originally posted by tribalman »j2e, i might be down in sammich on friday, if i do end up driving down there i'll PM you ahead of time so we can wave at each other. just dont crash into me, i already have enough work to do on galactica.Photoshoot ?!Quote, originally posted by ponta2147 »Today I saw a Gen 1 Neptune Vibe heading north on IL53 with the license plate GDVIBE1 and lots of bumper stickers... that license plate sounded so familiar...Quote, originally posted by jkm311 »I have also seen vanity plates, and even THOSE individuals have no reaction. That may be the one in the Cirle Center Mall if they still have it. Haven't been up on the level in a long time. At one point in time it was really awesome. Went there a few times back in the day.

I was wondering why you DIDN'T already have them on your Vibe If you originally had them on a previous vehicle, then you should have had them transferred to the Vibe. Somehow GET THEM BACK

Maybe next time!Quote, originally posted by tpollauf »I was wondering why you DIDN'T already have them on your Vibe If you originally had them on a previous vehicle, then you should have had them transferred to the Vibe. Somehow GET THEM BACK I had them on my Sunfire GT, but they seemed to draw too much attention (along with the loud exhaust, among other things) so when I got my Sunfire Sedan I went to regular plates and have had regular plates ever since. I have my J TO ENVY plates on display in my room. I should just start putting the rear one on when I do photoshoots and stuff . I have no idea if I could even get the plates re-instated or not and if so, how much it would cost and how much hassle it would cause. I kind of like having regular plates so if I yell at someone or something, the plates are harder to remember .

I think I am just going to stick with my random plates. I like being anonymous . I remember some random creepy guy on MySpace messaging me one time saying he saw me driving around the area (when I had my J TO ENVY plates on the Sunfire) and he waved at me. He got mad because I didn't wave back (because I had no clue who he was). That really creeped me out .It says J TO ENVY isn't available. It must be because I had/have it already .
