88969128 FRONT EXHAUST PIPE AWD

Post by shermaner12 »

Hey everyone,

Just spent the last two weekends replacing all four struts on my 2005 AWD black Vibe. It was a pretty fun project but also really aggravating at times fighting with bolts... (broke down and just bought a impact after fighting with a bolt for nearly 45 minutes)

Anyway... once i got the struts all done and the car is actually being held up it seems a light cluck has started near the center of the car. The exhaust is pretty rusty as it spent most of its life in salty pennsylvania. And i know the end of the front pipe is toast basically not attached to the flange anymore.. and of course this part is discontinued....

Does anyone know where i can get one that is still in decent shape.. thinking about going to the pick and pull but don't list if the vibes are AWD or not and who knows the condition...

really don't want to have to go to a custom shop somewhere..

The exhaust parts may be discontinued at GM, but Toyota still has them. Just tell them you are looking for a Toyota Matrix XR AWD.

Also, have you checked https://www.rockauto.com ?

Welcome to genvibe!

You can't just buy the front pipe. You'll have to buy the whole exhaust pipe from the manifold back, up to the muffler. This includes the catalytic converter, though. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.ph ... 59&jsn=736

Be careful that you choose the CARB version of the cat, unless your emissions sticker under the hood doesn't say California on it.

You might be able to take it to a muffler shop and have them bend a replacement if the cat is still good, but need to find a good shop.
