so it was interesting...i did three runs, best being 16.6Im not very familiar with the car yet, i have only had it for a few days, so two of the runs i missed third gear, and i wasnt launching it, so overall i think i did decenti beat an a4, and put up a pretty good fight against a mazda 6, both modded(im 100% stock as of right now)

Do you have a GT? Glad you had fun, I always thought it would be fun to go, but then I realize what I drive and I change my mind.

I was shifting at about 7, give or take...and yeah i keep hearing about those clutches, so far mine seems ok, but thats not saying much since i dont really know what a bad clutch feels like...loland yeah dont tell him i told you, but the A4 that i beat was his poor vinny, beat by a girl lol

yeap got beat by her. I have a tiptronic, so it doesn't help at all. Thats ok, I have no shame losing to her. As a matter of fact I think its good that she did. My time for my car was rediculous.

LOL. having tiptronic isn't an excuse. i have an auto with manual sport shift mode too. and you know what, i beat a lot of guys with it. they get upset when they find out it's an auto and they really get upset when they find out i'm a SHE and not a HE.however, i frequent the drag strip enough, that they now know i'm a SHE.

I don't mind getting beat by a girl... if she's cute. back on topic...16.6 is pretty good stock in a GT. I ran a 16.8 in my base 5spd Vibe with a cold air intake and exhaust. Never saw a difference with the unichip. But I also was having launch/traction issues. wheel hop is a pain in the back side.

vinny, how did you launch the car? just mash the gas pedal??? if so, that's your problem. an A4 should put up a much better fight. next time, hold the brake hard, then add a little gas to about 2800 rpms. it will help your car spool up so when the light comes on, you let your left foot off and your right foot to the floor. practice that a little and you will notice a HUGE difference in your car.

I did minorly brake boost, however I'm affraid of braking the tiptronic. Not to mention, it only allows you to go to 2000rpms.....It's ok, i've accepted the fact that my car is a 3800lb pig. I'll just roll around and look sexy instead.

It only allows you to go to 2000 rpms? That does not sound right to me at all.
