11/3/02 Matrix Auto-X

Post by Cobalt_amg »

I had a pretty shi**y day. I was off-course 3 times (course was confusing) and spun out twice. I spun once intentionaly to test the limits of the trix and the other was bad driving. I took 5th out of 8 drivers in G-Stock. anyway, some pics below.. Also, I have a video or one of my runs from the week before. It is 7megs so 56k'ers beware.. You will see (and hear a little) the lift kick in right after the right hand turn.. gotta love vvtl-ihttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/Cobalt_AMG/Video/102702_cobalt_autox.mpg

It looks as if a few simple suspension upgrades would help greatly. Are you planning on better rims/tries, springs, and strut brace? I checked out your web site, I really liked the GM exhaust sound files. Did you have this installed on your car, or just samples?

I have plans for coilovers, strut bar, thicker sways and 16 inch light weight rims with stickies..but gotta round up some cash to get it all done. And about the exhaust, that is not from mine, just what it sounds like on an xrs..

Cobalt, that's awesome! We don't have auto-x around here from what I can see but, I think it's gotta be a whole lotta fun! Racing that doesn't require huge bux.Ya know, while springs and tires certainly would help, it's pretty cool that you can just take your stocker out and race against yourself and see how good you can get with no mods.Good on ya, happy racing
