Has been for a couple months. There's a FB group of the same name, but it isn't as active as other Matrix FB groups.

That really S U C K S ! I'd visit their site from time to time on issues that pertained to both the Vibe/Matrix line. And to think they still made Matrix's in Canada for several more years after Vibe production stopped.

I'm guessing it came down to server costs. Hard to say though for sure.

Hmm, maybe them and this site should have merged. It's easier to run a site with more resources and people behind it. It's the same car just with different exterior (and some interior) differences. Could have had a Matrix and a Vibe section and then a combined section for things that both cars share.

The MO owner doesn't care at all.

At least Mike for us keeps this up and running. We've got several who don't Facebook and much prefer the forum. While it is a little dated, it serves it's purpose. Many Matrix users have flocked to here and the GV Facebook page for that reason

Considering I host my own machines, if I'd known, I'd have offered to keep the site up and running, even if only in read-only mode.

Sadly I've seen several different sites over the years go away without any notification from the admin. I'll never understand why. If you can't or don't want to host a site anymore, offer it up to somebody who might instead of just throwing years of posts down the tubes.

A lot of times it's "If I can't make money off of it, nobody will"

Others, it's "Nobody has posted for three months, so it must not be worthwhile anymore."

a bummer but understandable. Vibes have been out of production for over a dozen years, and each day there are fewer on the road.

I can't see what the activity level is in the private genvibe facebook group, but traffic here dropped noticeably when it was stood up.

I was never very active on MO, the one I miss was matrixvibe.net

GenVibe facebook group is up to 6.4k members...I remember when I joined it about 10 years ago, we were at best, 500-1000. It is a very active group, though many of us die hards are also slowly stepping away.

Nick still has his Vibe. Zane still has his boosted one, but scrapped his GT after parting it out. Salsarob still has his fleet of Vibes. thebarber, wheeler, and a few other OG's have long been out of the game, but are still active in the community on FB.

My hiatus from here has all been work related. I had a job WFH, so I could jump on here throughout the day. Unfortunately, I am running a local business, so gotta be in a building all day these days.

On August 5, 2013, Toyota announced an end to production of the Matrix for the US market after the 2013 model year due to declining sales, and that there were no plans to replace it with another vehicle. When we compare the Toyota Corolla's and the Toyota Matrix's specifications and ratings, the Toyota Corolla has the advantage in the area of Core Ball fuel efficiency. The Toyota Matrix has the advantage in the areas of typical lower range of pricing for one- to five-year-old used cars, and interior volume. This compact car offers sporty styling, decent performance, interior comfort, and excellent mpg ratings - all for an affordable pre-owned price. Most of the severe problems associated with the Matrix, such as engine and transmission failures, are pleasantly absent. The Pontiac Vibe is a compact car that was sold by Pontiac from 2002 to 2010. It was jointly developed by General Motors along with Toyota, which manufactured the mechanically similar Toyota Matrix.
