No mention of pontiac, but hummer is going the way of the pasture. Saab, they are looking to sell it, Saturn will stay in business till 2012, if saturn doesn't change they will nix saturn in 2011, if they can't sell it.They still plan on keeping pontiac as a nitch market.

According to a Reuters UK news article, GM is only focusing on "the company's three strongest global brands -- Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick, as well as its GMC truck brand."Sounds like Pontiac is off the list to me. Guess I better get my recall work done and soon.

http://www.gminsidenews.com/fo...75664/GM makes no more SS and vspec is very sad, everyone that was a car enthusiast is now going to move to ford as they will still be making "performance" cars. I miss the cobalt SS already :/

Yeah, technically it would be V-Series for Cadillac.

Article in today's NY Times:"Its Muscle Car Glory Faded, Pontiac Shrivels UpBy MICHELINE MAYNARDPublished: February 19, 2009DETROIT — With its history of building muscle cars like the GTO and the low-slung Firebird, Pontiac had good reason to take pride in its best-known marketing slogan..." http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02...=2&hp

That article made the following comment about the Vibe. "While the Matrix holds 67 percent of its resale value after three years, according to Kelley Blue Book, the Vibe retains just 54 percent."I think those resale values are based on the original full MSRP.The MSRP of my 2003 Vibe bought 1-27-03 was $18,690. I sold it 6 years later for $9,500. Of cours eit only had 33,000 miles. However, my cost including a GM Card rebate of $2,003 was $13.701 before tax etc. [With tax etc. it was $14,718]. I am sure a Matrix would have cost more.I have seen the same comparision between a Chrysler T&C and a comparable Honda of Toyota etc.. Paid $

Sold it for $11,500 in August 2007. The value of new cars is highly dependent on the price of a comparable new car. If you are buying right, you can afford to sell lower.Buying a Vibe instead of a Matrix is sort of like marrying an identical twin.Buying a T&C instead of a Honda Odyssey is not that great of a sacrifice either.
