GM has a great website which gives specs and pictures of their engine and transmission options for all their vehicles. Up until now, the Vibe has not been listed due to its Toyota engine/trans.The 2006 GM "powertrain" list has just been released and the Vibe is now included! I am very suprised to see that an automatic trans option is shown for all three Vibe models including the GT: http://media.gm.com/us/powertr....htmlI guess this could be a mistake(?)
well considering how the 06 GT is a baby compared to the 03-04 GT... its lack of power and all... its possible maybe it no longer needs a 6spd... I'm hoping its a typo... the GT is really being destroyed IMO...

The pdf brochure posted by SenenCito also does not show an auto option for the GT. But what is interesting is that the powertrain site shows 3 seperate RPO's for the automatics, MU4(base) MU5(AWD) and the MU6(GT).Perhaps an automatic option is under consideration. That is why the back covers of printed brochures have the fine print, "Specifications subject to change without notice".

They have changed the way they rate the horsepower but there is no denying that '05s (and presumably '06s) have lift enagement at 6800rpm... Please tell me the '06 didn't get even higher than that? In any event... It may be debatable as to how much of a difference it makes between the '03s and '04s, but there's definitely no question of how much lift at 6800+ is gonna hurt you in a close race or at the track.

In the first MY, the Matrix had a limited run availability of XRS models with auto trannies. They didn't even last through the entire MY. Perhaps GM had initially planned for that, but then at the last minuted renigged, and perhaps that is simply carried over from year to year?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
