Ok so we know that the Vibe and Matrix are no longer manufactured, given this fact what do you think will be the "Next" Vibe or Matrix.
I would like to submit the New Trabi! It is slated to be cool, fun and capable (a little bit more than the Trabants from the Eastern Block days). Now I don't know if it will ever be actually produced, but it would sure be cool!

Looks like an old Mini from the 60's
The car pictured is a concept car first displayed at the Frankfurt auto show in 2009. http://es.autoblog.com/tag/trabant" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And you're right it's meant to do battle with the Mini and Fiat 500, if it's ever made. Not really a Vibe contender.

Also has anyone seen the Elio? My friend put the down payment on it and will be getting it eventually. Might be a nice car everyone can afford, though I really wish someone would come up with a nice little wagon or a hatchback that is like the vibe and has a usable space in the back

The Elio should likely be discussed in a different thread, as it's so far from the Vibe in terms of size/functionality/cost.
There are several little wagons on the market that fill the space the Vibe/Matrix compete in, but none have better fuel economy to cargo capacity ratios.

With the Trabant reputation what it is, I can't imagine putting money down for it.
That said, I like the way it looks for the most part - but I need a real retro grille and somehow the headlights look kind of bug-eyed, so that needs to be addressed. Looks like it would haul a lot. If they could make it as reliable as an AK-47, I would be very interested.
