Fiat 500L is cute as a BUG!

Post by Chiadog »

Shame it can only manage 33mpg hiway. No way I'm ever going to give up mpg's and interior space!

an automatic loser in any accident not involving another 500 or Smart. it's hard to find a car that will lose to a Mini Cooper, but the 500 is quite capable of that.

Are you talking about crash data? Do you have a link?
This vehicle isn't really small or light at 3200 lbs.

It's quite a big car. Taller, wider, maybe longer than the Vibe. Not at all a danger in an accident. No way I'd buy one, as it looks bloated and a bit silly, but it is cute. And that is how it will sell.

I like it! Very cute. A Fiat made in the former Yugo plant. Can't go wrong there.

I would have waited for them to show up but I figured the price would be more than I would be willing to pay. At about $22k for the cheapest one with an automatic, I guess I was right. Though still not too expensive all things considered (I'm just overly stingy.)

Give it a year, I'm sure these things will depreciate like crazy.

The 500 is cute. The 500L is not IMO. I second the idea that it looks kind of bloated.

Went to take a look at one the other day...sat in one in the show room. It looks better in teal life, i think. Bigger than I thought it'd be, too

Plusses:
Lots of rear seat space
turbo + 6 speed manual
decent hatch cargo space.

Minuses:
seats were hard and flat front and rear
Seats only fold flat if you raise rear cargo floor up
shift knob was big and gaudy
