New Car, not a Vibe.

Post by MotoAce51 »

I am still here and I still have the vibe but its becomming the wifes car. I just pulled the plug yesterday and bought an '06 Dodge Charger R/T. I still love my vibe and can't beat the gas mileage but I wanted something different. My wife likes the vibe for the space and hatchback so she gets the vibe and I get a charger. I can't wait to get it home.

NICE! Glad the Vibe still gets to stay in the family

Congrats! But it looks like you should have bought something a bit more practical/roomier

I know what you mean about feeling something different. I myself have been feeling like a Mustang GT lately, but with gas prices getting higher and no where to go but up, I'll keep my Mazda3... for now. Not the most powerful, but 26-28mpg WITH my foot in it all day long.I've been drivging 4-cyl cars for over 30 yrs now, and while I like them and have had many good times using them, I want something with more power-on-demand!!Congrats on the Charger though. Enjoy it in good health.

Congrats on your "new to you" car. They are actually very roomy and solid. Is this the one with the V6 or the V8? Not too many companies making relatively affordable RWD cars anymore which is a shame. I learned to drive and drove a RWD car for several years and I can honestly say it made me a better overall driver. Take more pics of the car when you get it home

It has tons of room. I was amazed. Thats why I went with it. Plus it has a DVD player in back for the kid when she is older. As for motor, its the 5.7 V8 HEMI! Tons of power but it has the ecoBoost where it will kick down to 4cyl on trips to save gas. People on the charger forum say you can get 28mpg on the highway cruising about 70-80mph. I still love the vibe and will still do stuff to it but this is just an extra toy/ family car. I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.

Ya...it might get that kind of mileage in the unlikely event you can keep your foot off the loud pedal for more than a block or two MotoAce51. Look forward to see some more pics when you get her home.Have fun!Pat
