So today I brought home a two wheeled companion to for my baby. 1995 Ninja. I have never ridden on a motorcycle before but it's been a dream of mine to own a Ninja since I was about 4 or 5 years old...basically as long as I can remember. So I came across this little guy very cheap and it runs excellent. Needs a little bit of love but it's a blast to ride and I only rode it for a couple of minutes (don't have insurance, registration, license, or helmet yet) My friend drove her home for me while I followed him in the pouring rain and hard winds (about 15 miles).Tomorow I'm going to get my temp. permit so I can ride it legally and then get a helmet and hopefully I'll be able to get a ride in before work. It's a 6 speed manual so that makes up for my Vibe being an automatic in a way It is easier to ride than I thought, I've never even ridden a dirtbike or anything but I didn't have any trouble shifting or anything like that. Here are some pics. The ride home in the rain on the dirty roads got her all wet and dirty so I need to wash and clean it very thoroughly. As of now, I'm thinking metallic black with red powder coated rims with chrome lip.
you look like a true biker at heart Paul. Quote, originally posted by Merzbow » As of now, I'm thinking metallic black with red powder coated rims with chrome lip.i think that would look pretty sweet on that bike.
Makes me miss my little Honda 750..... oh well, that is next years venture (A new bike)..... good luck and enjoy... BE SAFE!!!! (I hate all caps, but that deserved it)

lol.Yeah I'm a safe driver I will be on this though for sure. On the way home my friend almost got cut off by some guys in a van (Friend was following me on the bike while i was in the VIbe). I slammed on the brakes to block him and prevent him from crashing my bike! It worked lol. He swerved back into his lane and got pissed and went around me. There were about 7 car lengths open in front of me cause I was driving slow so there was no reason why he couldn't just go in front of me instead of cutting off a motorcycle.
very nice looking bike.as someone who recently learned to ride myself, i highly, highly recommend the MSF course. it's an outstanding curriculum, designed to teach you from the ground up the skills you need to ride safely. it's also quite a bit of fun to spend a weekend practicing on somebody else's bike in a parking lot (they provide the motorcycles you ride during the course).

Sweet ride, dude and be safe. Two things to remember - Ride like you are invisible and let'em have the right-of-way, you could be dead right if you don't. A pic of my youngest son's '95 Ninja ZX600.....spooky quick. click
I could never get a bike I'd die in the first 5 minutes. Most likely doing 140+ on the highway too. Me and bikes would not mix well, I'll stick to 4 wheels.
Im already ready to get a bigger one. I was shopping around at the local Ducati dealership for 2 hours yesterday. I might start saving up for a Monster 1000 or one of the new Augustas.
I would love to have a bike, but my buddy just took a dump off his, and it kind of turned me off. Of course I'm sure I'll forget about it in a week or two and want one just as bad. I have a short memory.
Ohh man, you are soo lucky. I've wanted to get a bike for a year now. My wife says.. "don't you love your son? Why would you get a bike?"Check out BUEL.COM. They have beautifull bikes. Eventually i will get one.
Here's how you get around that problem......you buy the wifey a bike, that's what i did and now she's got a full blown motorcycle license and has been riding about 2 years. Crusin' is a blast. Only problem with a Buel is they have a Harley motor. I read this a while back - "98% of all Harleys are still on the road.......the other 2% actually made it back home". LOL, LOL, LOL
Those are some great choices. Both bikes are excellent. The Ducati is a really nice ride, they are really fast also.I will also let the Harley slag go by djb383.I used to be a Harley mechanic,so the Harley engine is a great motor also, but it's not a stock Harley motor, buell has added a few things to pump it up a bit, plus they sound awesome. If I had a choice between the 2,I would surprisingly go for the Ducati.

I have nothing against any bike, they are all a blast to ride, again, sorry dude. Here's another funny one I heard - people that ride motorcycles know exactly why dogs hang their heads out the window.
