My new car...

Post by Merzbow »

So...I decided to trade in the Vibe and get something with a little more power. Bought a 2006 Ferrari F430. It's got a 4.3L V8 with about 490hp.It's a little peppier than the Vibe I'm not gonna lie...Here are some pics:HAHA, actually it's not mine. A friend of my mom's. He took her to dinner tonight and brought one of his cars over to show me. I love Ferrari and I allways have more than any other car company ever and he knows that. He rolled up in this 430 that he just got. He asked me if I wanted to go for a ride I was all for that without question...we were talking about cars and listening to this rediculous engine roar and he stops mid sentance and asks if I want to drive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was speechlesss...I just said "uhhhhhh" as my voice quivered away and he pulled into a parking lot and said "I trust you" then explained how to drive it. It had the F1 paddle shift transmition. "Push both paddles for neutral, left downshifts, right shifts up, and press the button on the center counsel for reverse...then he jumped in the passenger seat. I couldn't feel my legs I was happy beyond words. I drove it around for about 10 minutes and then returned home and drove through my subdivision...everyone stared with their mouths open as I drove by and the exhaust crackled behind when I downshifted. I've never driven a fast car before but I felt like it was part of me, the seats, the engine, the steering, everything was perfect.Just pressing the peddle like 1/24 in threw me back into the seat. I can't describe how amazing the experience was, truly life changing, I wont ever forget it.This friend is amazing, he has over 75 cars including, Enzo, Carrera GT, bugatti Veyron, SLR McLarren, Ford GT, Vanquish, numerous Lamborghinis, Maserattis....list goes on. He races alot of them and has aftermarket exhaust and brakes and stuff on alot of his cars. He is really down to earth and modest, one of the coolest people I've ever met, you would never gues he was as wealthy as he is if you just saw him on the street. And the thing is, he made all his money himsefl from nothing. He is getting an F430 Spider next week...this is what he said to me "I didn't know we were that close to your house I wanted you to drive it longer so when I get the spider in nest week I'll bring it by and you can test drive that too...then when you come to look at my warehouse we'll take the Murcielago spider out for a spin". I just dropped my jaw and thanked him for even letting me sit in it let alone drive it.Anyways, of course I had to take some pics of it with my Vibe so here are some more. You can see my Taurus in the backround of the first set of pics Wish I could have gotten some int he day so you could actually see my Vibe but next to the Ferrari it is like a 10 speed... I'll take some when he brings the spider by.

Wow!!! Nice story. Wish I had some friends like that! I was happy just to sit in a Ferrari once at a car show. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to drive!So.....How fast did you get to drive???

To tell you the truth, when he drove I had my head smashed into the back of the seat for quite some time and I was in ecstacy listening to the engine the entire time so I did not even think about checking the speed...the ride is so nice it makes it seem slower than you are actually going. When I drove, I didn't take it over 50. I was too cautious. Got it to fourth gear once to cruise but no higher. Maybein the Spider I'll get it up there. He told me when he was following my mom to our house, as soon as they pulled out of hte resturaunt an unmarked cop pulled along side of him and gave him a dirty look and waved his finger straight ahead and the cop paced him at exactly 45mph for about 5 miles he said just to make sure he didn't speed....now tell me how big of an A-hole that cop was?

That thing is like, totally slow! Now, who is this friend of your mom's, merzbow? You totally need to hook those two up, now that I think about it. You'd have a hell of a selection of toys at your disposal.

Very cool Merz! Glad he let you drive it too! And I am glad he drives them! Sounds like a cool guy... Cars are built to be driven, Garage Queens Suck! Why save it for the next guy? That does not make sense! When I die I do not want to say "I owned a Corvette". I will be able to say I drove the wheels off my Corvette, drove it fast, roasted the tires a few times and had fun doing it! And when you die you cannot take it with you, so why not.

That's a sweet way to look at it.BTW I know you like Vettes, he just got a Z06 with the red leather interrior and is giving it to this guy that does '55 front end and rear end conversions on the 2003 body style. I've seen pictures of someone else's Vette he did and it looks gorgeous...

(removed)! That is a sweet conversion for sure! I have seen them and you would swear the car came right out of the 1950's as it drove by! If you see it one day, post a pic on the site!

Yeah, this is how I like to roll... it's cheaper to buy bulk. At night, I like to go to the garage and count them. 1…2…3…4… JK, 3/4 of the cars arent mine the men have the red and us women have the gray/silver. I got cheaped on the power, but not the looks.
