Who: Sports Car Club of America, Arctic Alaska Region
What: "Gambell, Guts & Glory" RallyCross
When: Saturday, January 3, 2009, 8:45AM – 5:00PM
Where: Northside of Third Avenue, between Eagle and Ingra
How: Through the efforts of Bill Demming, RallyCross Steward, and his dedicated RallyCross Team!

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the second event in the Winter RallyCross Season Championship on Saturday, January 3, 2009. “Gambell, Guts, & Glory” RallyCross will be held at the vacant lot located north of 3rd Avenue between Ingra and Eagle, in downtown Anchorage.

The Schedule for RallyCross Morning
8:00AM - RallyCross Team Arrival
9:00 AM - 9:30 AM - Registration Hours
All competitors will need to come by the Registration Tent upon arrival — both those who registered online and those who choose to register at the event. Note that Registration is only open for 30-minutes. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection. It is best to arrive early so you'll have more time to walk the lengthy course!

Cars will have been gridded departing tech, and we will have the first car on course immediately after the Driver's Meeting. There will be two runs per group, with a 30-minute lunch break (the RallyCross Team will be reviewing the course) and then resume with the final two competition runs of the day. Your best 3-out-of-4 runs will count for your time.

Awards after Competition - Not later than 5:30PM
Course Teardown By Competitors Immediately After Awards

All competitors are encouraged to pre-register (versus "event morning" registration) at the official online registration site for 2009 Rally events: http://www.motorsportreg.com. This will aid our planning prior to the event.

Another reason to register online? You will save money!

Entry fees will be $50 for SCCA Members and $65 for SCCA Weekend Members. The Weekend Membership fee makes you an SCCA Weekend Member, will give you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of "SportsCar" (our national magazine), a DVD about SCCA, and is valid for the all SCCA-sanctioned events held during that weekend.

So here’s the run down on entry fees:
- Wait and Register on Event Morning - $50 and $65
We have a cap of on entries – we may not take entries onsite!

- Pre-Register Online AND Pay by midnight, on the Sunday before event - $40 and $55 — NOTE: For "Gambell, Guts & Glory" — this would be 12/28/08 11:59PM AKST. Your entry fee must be paid online (or mailed to SCCA, PO Box 220108, Anchorage, AK 99522 with a postmark not later than December 28, 2008).

- Pre-Register after Sunday, Dec 28th and before January 2nd, 2009, and Pay online or at the event – $50/$65. While you won't save money, you will spend less time at Registration at the event and you will be helping the Region in planning adequate room for tech and pit areas!

Competitors must present a valid driver’s license and sign the Event Waiver. If under 18-years-of-age, competitors must have a Minor Waiver signed by their parents and presented prior to competition. Contact the Region at 243-2122 to obtain a form.
Helmets: Competitors must wear helmets, and they must meet minimum Snell SA-95, K95, or M-95 ratings or newer. The Region will have limited sizes and quantities of “loaner helmets” at the event; there is a $10 charge for use during the event.

The Region has established four classes for our Winter Championship Season: Stock-2W, Modified-2W, Stock-AWD and Modified-AWD. Tires allowed are all-season, summer, or snow tires with or without street studs. Use of “enhanced” tires” i.e. performance rally tires, tires with more studs than highway legal, extreme mud/snow tires with large paddles, lugs, etc., will NOT be allowed.

Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle ready for inspection to the Tech Inspection Team at 9AM. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet.

Vehicles with a high-center of gravity (lifted trucks) or vehicles emitting excessive noise will not be allowed to compete. This decision will be at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.

Download the Tech Checklist, as well as the Region Supplemental Rules, and the National SCCA RallyCross Rules at the Arctic Alaska Region’s website: http://www.alaskascca.com.

The event organizer is offering the following cancellation policy directly to you: Refunds will not be made until the end of the RallyCross season (Mar09) or 30-days, which ever is later. Also consult the http://www.MotorsportReg.com terms.
