Varsol as bug n tar remover

Post by patrickogrady »

My 2006 has never been done, just washed, and there is a good collection of bug bodies n stuff especially on the front bumper cover. Any problem with using varsol as a remover? I'll be using a clay bar once I get the surface cleaned and chips filled.

I'd be quite hesitant...Go into your kitchen and grab the bottle of dishsoap, a bucket, and a sponge.

Dry sheets work great. Or a bottle of SHOUT. Just wet the dryer sheet and start scrubbing. Or spray the SHOUT on and then take a sponge and scrub..

I scrub, rinse, repeat until all the bugs are gone. If there are some that are stubborn, I will carefully use my fingernail to scratch them off. Make sure to follow up with a good coat of wax for protection and to help make future bugs easier to remove. It may take some time, but with this method you won't have to worry about possibly harming your paint with harsh chemicals.
