well i had a nice lil surprise waitin for me on monday morning; some dumbass kids decided it would be fun to put shaving cream on my baby, and splash what looked like soda on each wheel. it was still pretty early and the temps were cool, so i was able to get it all washed off without it doing anything to the paint. i've still got one problem though...the black rubber trim that goes along the bottom of the window is stained from the shavin cream. the best way to describe it is it kinda looks like it got armorall on it. i spent extra time tryna wash it off more than once, but it's still there givin me the damn finger every time i look at it.fortunately, i didn't get it as bad as the honda accord around the corner. that car had it everywhere... doors, fenders, bumpers, hood, roof, trunk, n tires. i think i just got what was left in the can

Well thankfully you caught it in the early AM before the sun baked it on. As for those spots I know what your talking about, no matter how much you wipe it, still looks like something is there. Here are a few things you can try.1) Some Good 'ol Jif or Skippy. Get som PB and put a tiny bit on a rag and rub it on the spot. The peanut oils will absorb into the black and should clean out the markings.2) Straight oil. Yup some 5W-30 or whatever kind you use, just a tiny bit on a rag will do, same theory as above.Basically instead of trying to clean it off, you are oiling it. The rubber is porous so you wont be able to get it out. The oils I described above will either push it further into the rubber so it is not visible anymore, or by filling up the porous rubber in the area with a peanut/motor oil it will push the other stuff out.Also try using very warm water and a tiny bit of soap on a rag. The warm water will expand the rubber and allow better cleaning. Hope it works out well!

so your theory is that the peanut oils in 5w-30 will get rid of the marks too?? haha j/p, i know what you meant and after lookin at it again this mornin, it looks the other way around now; the spots that got hit with the shavin cream are dull. i'll try it out today n let you know how it goes. thanks whelan
