cleaning roof rack

Post by tahoan »

How do I clean the two stock aluminum bars that some call the roof rack? When I got the car, the bars were shiny aluminum. Now they are dulled, and I don't know the best way to clean and maintain the clean look. I have only had the car for 6 months. Thanks

Aluminum naturally oxidizes over time, and it doesn't take long for it to get dull. I've yet to see a Vibe with roof bars that have the "polished" aluminum look, but if you want to clean them up you could try buffing them by hand with some Mother's aluminum polish. They even have a newer billet aluminum polish that works even better but is usually more than twice as expensive.
