Hatch license plate light holder has chipping paint

Post by SeattleJeremy »

Not really sure what to call it, but has anyone else had a problem with the license plate light cover paint chipping? I've got nearly 7 years and 150k miles on the car. I haven't taken the best care of the paint, but this is the only place it's chipping. Thankfully, it's plastic.

It looks like it's going to keep chipping if I don't do something about it. Can I fix it with some touch up paint or does it need a pro?
Should I sand the thing down and have a bit of the two tone look?

What would you do?

I would get some Plasti-dip, and spray it black. It doesn't look bad at all. Even though the paint on my Vibe wasn't chipping, I sprayed mine black with PlastiDip, and now I think it looks odd without the black plate valance.
