Anybody heard of 2 inch trailer hitch for Vibe?

I am looking to get 2 inch hitch so I can attach a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
2 inch, because I would like to share the same attachment with my SUV as well.
Also the bigger the hitch - the more stable it will be (less wiggling).

I haven't seen anything. Most likely due to the towing capacity of a Vibe is not enough for a class III hitch and they don't want some fool to try and tow a 7,500lb trailer with a Vibe. We have one of the adapters that we use with our cargo box on our Explorer. It is a bit more wobbly, but I use several bungee cords to hold the box a bit more securely.

Most of the 1 1/4 bike racks also come with an adapter to use it with 2" receivers. I'd rather go that way then converting a 2" to 1 1/4" since that will put more stress on the 1 1/4" receiver.

I was suspecting something like that (foolproofness).

and I was hoping there is a 2" receiver for vibe,
but I guess there isn't.

If I get it - will it be ok to put a big cooler on it and fill it up?
Simple math: classII gets upto 200lbs, right?
the carrier itself is about 30 lbs so it leaves about 170 lbs.
Considering there will be an adapter (1 1/4 to 2 inch) it will
act as an additional lever. Do you think it will still be ok?

That's like the one we have for our Explorer. I loaded 5 or 6 rolling luggage bags on it. I'm sure that was at least 200lbs, but using the adapter it worked out OK with bungee cords as extra support to keep it from moving around. I got them tight enough that it would just barely move if really pushed. Might also use a few of the rachet tie down straps next time. It worked great for our trip as I ran a metal cable through the tie down chain holes on the hitch through the carrier and our luggage (under a tarp and bungee net). I think it actually helped our gas mileage too by making the rear more aerodynamic. LOL! However I could "feel" it just barely when driving, so I bet if it is loaded up, you would feel it more in the Vibe. Oh, and class II is rated for a tongue weight of 300-350lbs.

What about the grip?
If there are 200 lbs far back behind rear wheels
will it make the front get up and loosing grip?

About the "aerodynamic" shape - I recently found there is this design:

Contrary on common believe about abrupt rear ending...

I doubt it would affect anything unless maybe if you are driving in snow or ice. There is enough weight over the front wheels to keep them on the ground!

I wish I could get a class III or IV receiver for my Vibe. I have the class II.

I have found my receiver bent down a couple times now. My camper has 230 pounds of tongue weight. This spring I made a trip with a cargo trailer and bicycle rack. Total weight on the hitch was only 150 pounds and yet the receiver bent down again after 2,000 miles towing. I think the increased leverage of the bicycle rack makes for more torque on the receiver than simple tongue weight.
