the cars don't go fast enough for the spoiler to do any good. It's strickly for looks

I installed my two spoilers last summer and it makes no difference at all on the driving. Don't expect to cut corners faster with them!BUT it's looks way better with them in my opinion

On this car, where its located and the speed that car does - the spoiler does nothing for car control. It may have more effect on noise than anything else.
A fantastic solution to a problem that need not exist!

i remember this was covered in a thread a couple years ago... we did agree, though, that the midlip spoiler makes a great drink holder when tailgating.

I giggled a little when I read this one. If you like the way they look, go for it. If you think you will receive performance benefits, perhaps you should get a car that has performance potential. I'm not poking fun, remember I drive one too

I hope it doesn't add any downforce. You don't need it for speeds under 100 mph anyway and it only would worsen your gas mileage.

Yeah, I was gonna say... rear downforce on a front wheel drive car? Isn't that actually worse for driving????? Though I guess a front spoiler would be kind of hilarious...

lol this has become a great thread, i actually do see a difference at speeds 115+ when i open the moon roof and tilt it up, though it is in the middle of the car not the back. and the vibe does too have potential after a full rebuild lol look at MW racings celica

Agree completely. Everyone knows that to be effective at low speeds you have to add very large flaps to the Vibe wing. Of course, you would want to invert this example if you were going to mount it on your Vibe. Airplanes like lift and you want downforce.

I have had mine to 130 in 5th and still pulling, but maybe thats just the GT. I would love to see what canards would do for the front. Maybe help with the understeer when I am auto X.

All I have to say to you is to let go of your performance aspirations of the Vibe. It's a great little car. If I didn't think so, I wouldn't have one, and I sure wouldn't have done what I have to it. But to kid yourself into thinking that you can feel a performance difference with the sunroof angled is just ridiculous. Trust me, I have messed around with the Vibe quite a bit more than you have, and everything I say is from experience. I once had visions of grandeur just like yourself, but reality eventually sunk in. Enjoy the car for what it is. Drive the hell out it, and have fun doing so. Just please don't kid yourself into thinking your a hot shot in a sports car.

you should see the downforce numbers of the SS spoilers, low pro and high rise. They actually work but only some at 80mph and much more at 120+the top spoiler could give like 20lbs downforce at 100-120mph but if you want more downforce at a lower speed you'll want a higher rear spoiler and a really good splitter up front.

The SS spoilers have a bit more engineering behind them I would imagine. The spoilers for the Vibe were simply for aesthetic purposes.
