Got a question about mud flaps!

Today I took my Vibe to the dealership to get that whole "driver side window clicking" problem taken care of. While I was at it, I asked if there's any way I could get the front and rear mud flaps I purchased online put on since I don't have a drill. I was told that they would charge me $84.00 to get them put on! I don't know if that's high or if that's normal since this is the first time I've ever taken a vehicle to the dealership to get serviced. Can someone tell me if it's worth paying the $84 to get my mud flaps put on or should I look elsewhere? Thanks!!

$84 labor? Yick! Well, I do believe the instructions *did* have time on them to charge for labor, but I don't recall what it was. While that's expensive as hell, it could be a fair price for the dealer's labor rate... You can check with another shop to see what they'd charge. Or, you can see if someone in your area with a drill can help ya out. it isn't hard to do, it just requires that you jack the rear up and remove the wheels for drilling and installation. The front can be done without removing the wheels, just cut the wheel all the way to one side or the other and install 'em.Or just say screw it and pay the $84 and get it done at the dealer. At this point in my life, that's probably what I would do instead of trying to find the best deal somewhere else.

The mud flaps are very easy to put on. They are charging that much probably because you have to take the rear wheels off to get into that space. My advise, buy a cheap cordless drill and do it yourself. One of those drills with the swivel head I think I saw at Target for like $30. Then you probably wouldn't even have to remove the wheels.

Dude, easy install. just don't drill too deep on the rear ones. the instructions are clean and clear.

i used my dremel with the flexible shaft attachment! very easy to install and done in no time! took me about half a beer...deja vu!
