Any errors in the chart are because GM doesn't call the paint by the name we do, i.e. Dark Red Metallic II = Salsa. Thank you for the very useful post. Which is better for concealing the scratches, the spray or the brush bottle? Also, it looks like the first part of the number 62U is the color code whereas the WA916K is the Primary Code and the GM color name for Neptune appears to be Dark Blue Mica B/C. just thought i'd correct you, tnpartsguy....the color for Salsa is actually Medium Red Mica B/C, not Dark Red Metallic II. hehe sorry i just had to. My Salsa vibe is in need of some touch ups so i had to look and let you know lol

Thanks for the paint codes! I just ordered a paint pen from the dealer today so I can fix some stone chips. He was SO NICE and suggested that rather than use the paint pen tip get a book of matches, tear one off and use the torn edge to apply the paint lightly let that dry and apply a second thin coat if needed. He's gonna mail it to me too (for $10 + 3 shipping). Which is fine cause I did not buy the car from them. I went back to them cause they were so professional about the bolt recall and I liked them.In contrast I first called AdvanceAuto but the guy was rushed and said I'd just have to come to the store and check the rack myself. He did not want to talk to me AT ALL about paint. So that's when I called the dealer.

Fresh Update.Remeber, GM Special Parts Operations doesn't call the colour by the same name Pontiac marketing does, and the paint supplier might toss in a completely different name than the others. ALWAYS verify your WA # in your glove box before ordering paint.is there anyway this could become a sticky? Plus, can the title be changed to reflect the updaes through 09?

When did the silver color name change from Satellite to Platinum? After 2005? My son's silver 2005 looks a little different than my 2008. Will have to look at the paint codes in the door sticker when I get a chance.

Just curious, I thought the 09 black is called Jet Black Metallic. When I searched the code 19U/WA546G it shows it's Black Mica. Think it'll match?

You can always check the code against the sticker in the driver's door. Doing a quick google brought up several sites that all called it a different name (black mica, black pearl metallic...) but had the same color code.

Agreed. None of the 2009 color names listed above match the actual color names, but as Rayven said, as long as the paint code is the same, it will match.

Why does the color for my 2005 come up under the 2003's? I looked up the WA number in the glove compartment. It's blue.

The color didn't change in your model year, so the 2003 code is correct.

Check the inside of the govebox door. You should see a sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers on it. These are RPO codes. You will also find the paint code on this sticker. It's going to be either 22U or 82U.

I have a 2003 base. Can anyone decided the manufacturer paint lingo and spell it out plai9nly? Mine is white.

The white color is called Frosty. You will need the correct paint code for finding the proper paint, see the paint codes in the first post. You can also find the paint codes on the service parts identification label inside the glove compartment.

I recommend ACDelco lacquer touch-up paint code 40u wa 9737 19330189. I tried a number of differnet touch-up pens and bottled paint on my Frosty over the years. And the color of this one is accurate. The metal pen tip worked very well on these paint chips on the hood. It also comes with clear coat and a small brush to protect the base paint.
