PointyRedVibrator - 2003 Vibe Base

Post by PointyRedVibrator »

Hey fellow GenVibe members, nice to meet you all. I just got my vibe about 2 months ago with 286000 KMS and love it. I call it my pointy red vibrator (yeah I'm a little bit messed up). I've always been a Honda fanboy but always had a soft side for Toyota's as well. Anywho, I picked up the Vibe for a bargain ($750) on local classifieds with minor issues. Since the owner had about 3 pets the car smelled like a dogs assshole, so the first thing was to get it detailed and shampooed. I work inside a dealer, so all the work was done myself (saved a heep of money for me). The reason for buying this car was because my Civic is getting work done slowly at the shop. I've always loved 1st gen matrix's and how they look, so a vibe is just as cool for me.

So far here is all the work that's been done:

- Detailed interior (Shampoo interior, clean)
- Replace speakers with some cheap Alpine Type E's (All speakers except front tweeter were blown)
- Replace radio with an old aftermarket stereo sitting at home.
- Replaced vehicle fluids. (Engine oil, Coolant, MTF, Brake flush, P/S flush)
- Replace front rotors and pads (Rotors were warped and pads were worn down to the metal)
- Service Front and rear brakes.
- Replaced old cracked drive belt.
- Replaced cracked driver side taillight housing
- Vehicle suspension alignment.

Here are the mods done so far
I won't be doing much to this car since it'll be my daily/ winter beater until I get the Civic fixed up, and will probably plan on keeping it since it's been pretty good so far.

- Matrix XR/XRS Six spoke factory wheels (Painted Black)
- AEM intake system
- Rally Armor mud flaps
- White LED interior lighting

Welcome to GenVibe!

I really like the work you have done to it. There is not much more to do, really. I think I would take that bug shield off, paint the plastic cladding black and call it done.

The Civic looks smart too.

Thanks to all you guys! I'm getting a quite positive vibe from all you guys on this forum so far. Very different environment compared to the civic forums i used to go on with all the egotistic ricers and tuners hating on each other. I'll keep you guys posted from time to time!

Yep, the members here are the nicest bunch of car people I have ever encountered on the internet and in person! One of the main reasons I love this place so much :D!

Hey man, how'd you attach the mud flaps on the rear? I have Rally Armor URs and I only have them through the hole.
