Wife's new beater... 2004 Frosty Vibe

Post by REN69 »

Hi guys, new member here (though I've been around a few Toyota sites for a while) So finally found a new beater for my wife... she was driving our Sonata and I was driving a 96 AE102 Corolla sedan, however she always thought the Sonata was too big for her and no way in h.ell she would ever drive the AE102 "deathtrap" as she calls it (gas tank or filler neck leaks, so she was afraid of getting blown up if someone threw a smoke under the car, lol)

So here's our new to us 04 Vibe AWD, looking forward to replacing the stereo and speakers on it and maybe some wheels. :)

steelies on, for winter duty.

and this my summer ride...

Welcome and nice beater! And a very nice Supra! I really liked them when i was in high school and would have loved to own one. I still have a plastic model i never finished assembling, so that is the closest i will ever come. One of my teachers had a new Celica GT-S with all the fender flares and such, basically a Supra with the 4 cyl motor. Nice car.

Hey REN69,
That is a great beater! I Like the supra, too. In my opinion the Scion FRS would have been better and more successful had it been a retro-86 Supra look-alike design.

tpoullauf: I'm in Clarington east of Toronto... she does a lot of driving due to our kid's sports events, so she was racking up the mileage on the Sonata, now that she has the Vibe, the Sonata has become my beater, lol :D

thebarber: that's a familiar name from TN, I think I almost bought some of your stuff a few times, lol. :)

Doug14: 150k Km's (92k miles).

trb: thanks!

chiadog: the FR-S is what I want next, if I can keep her happy I may be able to trade the Sonata in for an FR-S... hopefully she doesn't force me to take automatic, lol. The car is still very successful so far, I keep seeing more of it than I ever saw Scion tC's on the road.
