TKenway's 06 VIBE base

Post by tkenway »

Checking in to the garage here.

2006 VIBE base with manual locks and windows.Auto, RWD. Neptune blue, currently 48,231 miles. (over 3,000 in a month and a half!) Learning all I can about this car, so I'm new to the forum. :)

He's a handsome gentleman, I think.

Crazy that it has so few miles for an '06. That's awesome.

The Vibe is a FWD car tho....unless it's AWD

I can't believe I found an 06 with 45,000 miles on it.

Dang, that's a good find! Mine is up to 121k now. I don't know how Ohio's winters are, but if you get snow, you can definitely have some good fun with an AWD vibe in the snow. I've been learning how to get good drifts going this past winter, when there are a couple inches of snow on the ground during a storm. It helps a lot to have less tred on the front tires...mine barely passed inspection

Only a FWD, but very little snow this winter so I can't test the fun. (Boo.) Can't wait to get it going faster in the summer!

Just a small update on my Vibe. Primarily working on visuals right now, considering car was pretty scratched up and dinged up when I brought her home.

Finally got her to SHINE again, with a lot of love and care.

Rolled over to 50k on April 23rd.
Gas mileage issue located and fixed - icky fuel filter 2-21-13
Blind spot mirrors added 3-15-13 (not pictured)
Headlights restored to almost new condition 5-18-13 (not pictured)

Definitely looking good.
Nice and shiny
You consider popping the hubcaps off and painting the steelies back to the original matte black?

Yes, actually. I'm just not entirely sure how to go about doing so on my budget. (About $40...) I also don't have another option for transportation, especially if it'll turn into a big project.

I'd love to make the steelies look cleaner, though. I also considered painting them a dark blue. (Or orange, just for the contrast.)

I rarely see the Neptune Blue Vibes rolling around here. There's a guy that has a Neptune, and every time we pass each other on the road, we wave. Haha, it makes me feel cool, like I'm part of a secret Neptune Blue Pontiac club or something.
