Aright, if it's not too far into Michigan, Tim, Ryan, and I should road trip up to see this beast first hand. Lol

Awesome work on it. Can't wait for the finished product. Are you going AWD? Or just front?

Assuming I'm the "Tim" mentioned here? YES I'd be up for a mini-day trip up north to check this beast out. A nice photo shoot with some other Vibes, when completed, would be nice :D

definently would be up for it. we have woodward dream cruze going on in a few weeks ( http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). i was thinking if some local genvibe members wanted to meet there sometime during the next few weeks before the cruise would be fun. woodward is always packed every night with old cars a month before the cruise. i was thinking of starting a new thread for a meet at woodward sometime. if anyone's interested let me know.

here's a few more pics

Yes .... start a separate thread. Depending on the weekend I could sacrifice part of a Saturday/Sunday and head up there. It's only one hour to my north for me :) Color scheme is awesome. Red & Black together are a "HOT" combination. Looking REAL good :D

I'd be willing to give up a weekend of work for a mini gathering. Especially if it involves Vibes and a ton of classic autos.

And yes, Tim, I meant you. Lol

not really. go to walmart and get yourself one of those camera mounts that you can wrap around the cage and mount the camera somewhere. or just get a go pro. :)

you need LOADS of red LED's in the headlight housings to look awesome during those races.

That would SO set this baby off.

Also, tasteful placement and size on the stickers

Very cool!!! Not talking about the snow either. Great build, excellent work, getting to park next to Ken Block's Fiesta, and second place in class overall. Not bad for a first event.

Need to hear how the car performed. Gotta be the most rigid Vibe on the planet. Any more Rallies planed for this Winter?

thanks everyone, it was an awesome experience to do this. i hope i am able to continue doing this for many more years.
last october our buddies car was totaled during a rally. they hit a tree stump around 60mph due to an outer tie rod breaking. they both walked away with no injuries due to safety equipment. here is a pic of it
Image

after this we have decided not to run the car if anything is questionable. we hope they will rebuild another car again, but for now they are helping us learn the events and crewing for our car.

Awesome Car! Glad to see you got a good result at Sno-Drift! Do you plan to run in any future rallies? It would really be awesome to see you at LSPR later in the year! I have been waiting for a year or two to see a Vibe Rally Car. Yours looks really cool! Do you have a website ? Where are you based out of?

This is exactly the idea of the route I want to go. Not sure where to start but I guess just start researching online. Btw I didn't see it mentioned but what suspension did you go with, and why did you take your front sway bar out? Does it give more under steer or something?

I think it would increase the suspension's articulation and actually induce a bit of oversteer.

This thread is quite interesting for me, because even though my vibe is my daily at the moment, once I'm able to afford it and have a different vehicle (or maybe another vibe, unlikely but possible), I plan on going into motorsports with my current one. And my intended sport of choice is rallycross. Not full rally, I don't have the will for that, but rallycross has an appeal to me
