|So are you going to fill in the roof rack side rails in with something? I have thought about pulling mine off and having them smoothed out with some metal like it is on the matrix. I just don’t have the tools to do it myself right now, but hopefully I will someday.|
no they are just off right now for the paint to go on. we will be putting the side rails back on, but the cross bars are staying off. my dad has a 2005 that doesnt have the cross bars so he took them.
took it to the glass shop and got the windshield removed so the roll cage can be fused with the a pillar. tomorrow we are taking it about 2.5 hours away to the rollcage guy. he will have the car for about 3 weeks. when we get it back the fun will begin with the assembly and paint.
here it is all ready to go
more updates in about 3 weeks

MrHatchWagon wrote:That looks freakin' amazing. Any plans to paint the roll cage or are you going to leave it like that? And have you decided on the paint job for the rally Vibe yet?
meidou wrote:This looks amazing.Just curious about one thing, I thought that GT vibes could not be towed with 2 wheels on the ground but instead needed to be placed on a flat bed.
Gl with the mods, I hope this can rival the DS3 that Leob drives.

Blanco_Diablo wrote:Do you have a theme in mind? Car name? Any sponsor logos to consider? Are you planning to paint or utilize vinyl graphics, or a combination? Is there a budget you had in mind? A lot of options out there for paint and finishes limited only by imagination and funds. With more info a few of us PhotoShop savvy members could mock-up some paint options for ya!
KITT222 wrote:Well... it might be taboo over on Jalopnik, but you should paint the Vibe in Gulf Oil livery!

if you're still looking for color suggestions, i'd like to suggest mustard yellow, with any accent work done in dark green. and all low gloss-shininess is overrated. i talked a buddy into this color combo on his little honda cafe racer project and it came out brilliantly.
MrHatchWagon wrote:Just curious, are you going to put a racing seat on the driver's side too?
