Nothing wrong with the old wind up windows!

That's just flies and moths... paint's fine! We'll see how the paint fares after a few highway runs this winter!
Wash the front and and take a look... The front of of a lot of 1st Gen Vibes do not fair well.

I'm sure the 2nd gen Vibes do no better. Either way, all the cars I've owned have been no stranger to rock chips. I'd just like to get 1 year before the windshield takes a hit.
They don't... I've got a few rock chips on my hood all the way down to the medal.

Is that a vacuum gauge you have installed? I had one in an a-pillar pod in my Sunfire - but hadn't decided on a spot to mount it in the Vibe. The curtain air bags concerned me somewhat. Where did you get yours? It looks similar to one I saw at Princess Auto - but it had no "case" of any sort for mounting.
I noticed in the picture of your gauge cluster that your speedometer "only" indicates up to 200km/h. Mine reads up to 240 with the 2.4. Do they seriously think that's necessary? With the laws here in Ontario, I'd have to find a track or closed road to even think of attempting to see how close to that it can get. I think the factory tires are only rated to 210 anyway.
I was just surprised to see the difference in the gauges. I hadn't noticed that at the time of a test drive. I didn't figure they'd bother making more than one version of it for the same car - that seems almost like a '70s or '80's idea to me...
I'd also be interested to know what you tapped into for the vacuum gauge input - assuming I'm seeing right. Let me know if you get a chance.
Thanks,
John
I tapped one of the vacuum lines that go to the brake booster. The vacuum line that goes to the gauge runs through the firewall through a small hole I poked through the brake actuator grommet.

Yours has the numbers 50 to 120 on the gauge. My has L to H. I have the 2.4L automatic basic 2009 . I understand you have a 1.8L manual.
My car was built in May 2008. Does anyone have it like Mr. Star_Deceiver?
Mine was built in July 2008.

Went down to see a movie...
Found a nice red car to park beside...
Diffrent mall, older car...
A little visit to the toy shoppe....
Back into Canada, and across those mountains...
Don't forget your Winter tires and /or Chains...
Up we go...
At the top!
The truck leaving spun his all-season tires all the way out of the lot and halfway up the on-ramp.... some people just never learn, 4x4 or not...
On the road again... wet and sandy...
We'll never get there at this rate...
Freezing fog.... wonderful!!!
Had to slow down a bit... The fog stopped being a problem once the heat was turned up and directed totally at the windshield but I still ran low on washer fluid...
Almost home... and yay, it's raining again and +5C out.... good ol' January!!!

He was doing the speed limit... needless to say, he was the only one...
Objects in mirror are slower then they appear...
Spot the tourist
Ten mile hill
I think the engineers wanted to extend the runaway lane further up and make a jump into the river far far below...

Great man!!
looks like your getting some good use out of that trailer hitch. That looks fun. Yeah I'm taking the vibe to go camping myself soon but I'll just be throwing a tent in the hatch.

With the trailer, I can now fit more beer and firewood in the car!!! I mean... how can you go wrong with fire and beer???

what was the wait in traffic for?
Apparently there was a major accident. I was stopped there for about 4 hours... I never saw any wreckage or damaged road so they must have cleaned it up well.
There were 36 rigs and 3 cars in front of me (I had plenty of time to count). I had all the slower ones passed within 15 minutes of taking off, the other slower rigs kept a speed of 120k for the most part and were easy to pass on the hills, the rest drove like me... making up time... It was nice, after about half an hour I had no-one in front of me and they didn't let traffic go in the other direction until I was almost in Golden so all the 2 lane passing zones could be used!

On the road...

Dealt with this little maintenance item

Decent place for the GPS until it gets warmer

That trench...

I need to get a shot of the car moving and get the wheels in action!
