Complete Brake Parts Replacement

Post by elrodvoss »

Evening everyone,

Been some time since I have been on here and glad that its still has active members.

I have a 2005 Vibe base model.

I am getting a vibration when I brake and research tells me that its due to the boots that cover the caliper bolts and the rotors getting warped.

I know my calipers are getting rusty on the surface, so I want to replace pretty much everything at the wheel. Since I want to get little better then stock parts, I want to make sure that I am getting all the needed parts I may need before I start this endeavor.

The following is the parts I am looking to order:

This is slotted rotors and pads

This is the caliper, caliper bracket, bolts, boots.

I *think* this is everything in 2 kits, but can the community please dbl check my findings. I have never bought a full replacements of all the parts, but have gone through 2 rotors with the little caliper pin problem and want to start at zero and have all new parts.

Thank you for your help.

Looks to me like all the parts

Would be good to bleed the lines until you get new clean fluid out. If you do that, do it with the old calipers before you remove them, that way you'll have only clean fresh fluid in the new calipers

In addition to brake system components, warped rotors can also be caused by improper or over torquing the lug nuts

Just did mine with Rockauto,

but went with the Powerstop kit, drilled and slotted rotors, superduty pads and nifty RED calipers...

Stops like crazy and NO fade either.
