There are two nylon female type latches which grab the "looped heavy wire" tab, attached to the seat base. You can see the nylon inserts in both photos. It grabs the looped wire (probably 1/8" thick or thicker) pretty good. This "wire" I'm referring to makes up the steel structure of the entire seat base. Lots of upward force is needed to release them. I think we partially broke one of them removing the seat. You then can get to the fuel tank components. We did this several years ago. My son was installing some sort of I-Pod adapter and it required a cable to be ran from the amp up to the front of the car where the I-pad would be. Long before Bluetooth This was in 2011.
