Adding Cruise in 2009 Base Model

Post by pilarskica »

I'm looking at a Vibe with no cruise. I was doing some research and I saw that you can get just the stalk and install it while other ones say you'll need the harness also.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Should just need the stalk. I know that is all you need for the 05-08 base models since I got one for another member on here. I actually think it is the same switch for all year models.

Edit: I just looked a bit and looks like the 09-10 is different. Found this thread: viewtopic.php?t=30424

I was able to successfully add cruise to my 2009 base Pontiac vibe.

The stalk I got was this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/191620284578.

Just make sure you get the wire that goes along with it too.

All i had to do was disconnect the battery, take out the airbag and plastic insert and then move the horn wire from the old harness to the new one. There is a trap door on the clip that lets you release the wire.

For installation I used 1" #10 screws from home depot. Put everything back together and took the car for a spin. Cruise worked perfectly and all for under $30.
