How to remove instrument cluster on first gen vibes

Post by striker1211 »

I had to put tape over my TPMS light because I only have sensors in my winter wheels so I decided to make a quick video. I hope it helps someone. It really is an easy thing to do and now I don't have to see a blinking orange light.

1. Pull bezel off.
2. Remove one screw at top (plastic should be under metal tang fyi).
3. Push in metal clips at bottom on either side.
4. Unhook two wiring harnesses.
5. Pull it out.
6. There are plastic clips all around the cluster that allow you to remove the clear plastic but you will need a small flathead screwdriver or dental pick to remove them easily.
7. Install is reverse of removal. Cluster sits gently onto metal tabs at bottom and then tighten top screw.

Good How to! but im curious, have you tried resetting the TPMS in your summers? IIRC the 03-08 vibes dont use sensors in the wheels but rely on part of the ABS system. anyone with more info feel free to chime in.
