40 inches wide between wheel wells (Monsoon package may provide extra inch or two)
50 inches deep at floor, 40 inches deep at top, this is with the front seats all the way back, moving the front seats forward and putting front passenger seat down adds room
29 inches tall from floor to middle of hatch opening

Some say the 2nd Gen is smaller than the 1st Gen but my '09 also has 29" from floor to middle of top opening, and a 40" width between the wheel wells.

Also want to mention that the front passenger seatback also folds forward to create almost 96" of overall length between the dash and the inside panels of the rear hatch. It won't hold 4'x8 sheets of paneling inside, of course, but the extra length is quite useful sometimes.
I recently carried three 96"x30" folding-leg 'banquet' tables inside my 2003, with the front seatback folded forward, but the hatch did not close entirely, so I used a cable to tie it closed for the 2-mile trip to the destination. I've carried a collapsed 16' aluminum ladder entirely inside, laying flat, with one end touching the dash, and the end at the bottom of the hatch panel.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
