shift boot

Post by beanzsl2 »

does anyone think a shift boot will fit over a auto0shifter, from a diff model car, or make, something, i just want a cleaner look. i did a practice one with my saturn sl2, but it ended up ripping (removed). and was a easier design

i think someone thought of this before but it was decided it wouldn't work. normal shift boots aren't made to extend so far up and down, there is a mix of lateral movements too. the boots rip IIRC when put into park or they get severely stretched out. you'd then have to make your own which might end up costing more than just buying a pre-made like you planned.
None. Vibe is gone.

Have you tried a manual shift boot from a Vibe? I had a manual Sunfire shift boot in my automatic Sunfire and it worked great.

i was thinkin about that.. but the auto is an odd shape, where it would sit, and the manual is square is it not?
