No answer applies. So far I fold the seat down several times a week in winter, when I carry my cross country or downhill skis. Otherwise only folded down for a couple of trips to the local Lowes/Home Depot stores.Every car/wagon should have this feature.

I didnt see a selection for me. I fold it down not for work area, but for cargo room quite frequently. The small 40 side is great for stacking a few sets of golf clubs. I put the seats down a lot for carrying items from lawn mowers, ladders, this past weekend I had three boxes of stuff, a vacuum, two bar stools, platters, salad bowl and stand, bar items set of old coke bottles, etc. It was packed.Had them folded down for our trip to North Carolina, me and my lady in the front and the two backs folded for coolers, beach gear, body boards, etc.

I never used the working table but I lower the front seat regularly to carry longer object. The vibe is now my only car so I can't just "use the other bigger car" when I need to. It's very usefull to carry the 7ft ladder or various tall boxed furniture.

If any of you who talked about desiring a normal seat with a pocket in back live in or around Houston I'll meet you one day and we can switch seats (I have a '09 base with no fold flat seat - it has a pocket in the back.) I'll even give you a little cash for your trouble.

I used it 2 times in the last 2 weeks. Comes in handy when taking calls and having to write out short hand notes for assignments.

I wish my 2010 vibe had the option. I have the regular passenger seat with the pocket on the backside. Anybody want to swap?

The fold flat seat wasn't an option on my base 2009 Vibe, but if it was I would've gotten it.So if anyone doesn't use theirs & want's to swap, let me know ;-)

I folded it down yesterday in order to take my screen door to a hardware store to have new screen material installed. Without that fold-down seat, there's no way I could have done that - short of having the screen on my head, anyway.

I have been looking for one for my '10 Vibe. I am kicking myself for not getting it!You want to laugh? The package was 325$ (which came with the cargo organizer, etc) and if I want the seat alone, it is 1800$!!!!I would love to trade seats with someone who doesn't want it!

A few others and I recently posted to this thread (I get emails saying so), but when I come to this thread the most recent post I see is from back in 2003. Is anyone else in this situation?

I love it! I've folded it down for various reasons, most often, for carrying items that are too long to fit behind the seat. Also have used it to raise tired swollen legs when someone else drove and I sat in the rear seat. Have used it as a table for food when eating in the car in the rain.
Only used it on one occasion as a work table. While waiting half an hour for someone to come back and unlock a door for a meeting, I ran an extension cord out the top of the passenger window, sat in the rear seat with the laptop on the table and used a handy nearby internet connection to catch up on some work while I waited.

Had that on my base 1.8L 2003 Vibe. Sold the 2003 and got a 2009 at a GM fire sale in January 2009. By that time they had decontented the Vibe and eliminated that on the base 1.8L. Wish i had it for the few times it would have been useful - like hauling a long ladder. Fortunately I have my 2004 SWB T&C that can handle that with ease. For the minimal added cost I think GM should have kept it as standard on the 1.8L base Vibe. They could have added $50 to the price to cover it. Hard to believe it has been almost 8 years since I bought a new car. When my youngest son's 2002 Honda Odyssey with about 250,000 miles dies he can have my 2004 T&C with about 35,000 miles and I will get something bigger than the Vibe but smaller than a minivan to replace that, using the Vibe (only 43,000 miles) as a second car.
