ac clutch

Post by sublevel4 »

I would just like to confirm what i think... I think i need a new ac clutch.
Fuse is good, as is the relay from what i can tell. Friend of mine jumped the connection to the battery. No clicking.
i can reach down and spin the clutch with my finger. so from what i see the compressor is still good.
So if i can find the clutch assembly for it i should be able to fix this myself with out the need to replace the compressor itself.

Yup looks like two of you got it diagnosed, if you guys jumped power from battery to the clutch terminals and it did not engage, then that means that clutch which is electromagnet coil is open circuit, no DC current flow no clutch engagement. You will need new clutch, keep us posted of your progress and if you have any trouble this is large community here i am sure someone will have right answer for you.
