Front sway bar installation questions

Post by meidou »

Hi all,
I am planning to install a front sway bar into my vibe in the coming weeks.I am following chocarl's DIY:
viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2888&p=485750&hili ... cs#p485750

However I have been comparing it to that of Hotchkiss's instructions: http://www.catalograck.com/ImgVD/HTK/22402.pdf

Do I need to remove the wheels for this job? I would rather have the car on a wheel ramp to allow for clearance to work.

How hard is it to remove the engine cradle, I think this may be the hardest part of the entire task.

Thanks again

I would put the front on jackstands on the frame and use a jack to drop the subframe. It looks like they don't fully detach it, but it's hard to tell.

I don't recommend you using ramps because you could have trouble lining up the subframe if you don't do it the way the other guy did it on genvibe, then you'd end up in a pickle.
