Site problem ?

Post by knightrace »

is anyone else experiencing a problem with the forum? More specifically, when I click on an Active Topic, I am taken to the thread, however, I can't find the page button to go to the most recent posting. It just displays the first page. What am I doing wrong?

I also have this problem. The number of post counts seems to have been reset as well. To see all the posts in the thread though, I click reply and then at the bottom of the reply box you can see all the posts on other pages.

Same here. Must have had something to do with the "outage" all day Sunday when the site was down. Maybe they'll look into this and restore things the way they were

I've got the same issue. It might be browser specific though. I use Firefox.

Since I have several e-mail addresses that conflict using the same one I use multiple browsers for different things. Google Chrome which I'm quite happy with and IE... less so.But I always use IE for GenVibe and have had no problems... lother than the site being down all day Sunday.

Mmmmm... no. Is it just that thread or are there others?I usually go through "active topics" or an e-mail notification to get where I'm going and so far this is the first weird thing I have seen.

Yeah my Nissan Leaf thread is messed up, but older threads are fine. Maybe it has something to do with when they were created...?

What I'm curious about, especially with all the talk on here and FB about it, is that the "powers that be" (not the Moderator's but the owner/operators) 'round here haven't posted anything about these problems or why the site was down.*edit* I suppose it could have something to do with this: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=45554?

The site was down for part of the day on Sunday due to a problem with the hardware, that matter is now resolved. That problem however might have caused a corruption of the database, that's the only explanation I can think of for the problem the software is having of pulling up some pages.I can see thathttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16686doesn't show any links to subsequent pages, but those pages are there - you can navigate directly tohttp://forums.genvibe.com/zero...ge=10I have run the database level repair tools and everything is in order. There aren't any tools / software / support for the database software so it is going to take some digging around to see if I can discover why it is misbehaving. I will do what I can tonight.

Hi all -Well I'm not going to say I "solved" the problem, but it seems that I did enough tinkering that it might have gone away.Basically as was said above, a lot of the post counts got reset for many threads. The messages themselves were still there, but the forums just thought those threads had only 1 page.I found that if you put together the URL correctly then you can get the forum software to recount the number of posts. So I've done that for all posts on the website. That job is running now (12:47a PST Friday) and should be done in an hour or two.If you notice a specific thread that doesn't seem to be behaving correctly, please post a link to that thread there so that I can take a look at it.I'm assuming all problems on the site are of this nature - posts not showing in their threads. If there are different sorts of problems, I don't know about it so please post here.If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hope everyone is enjoying a good holiday.Mike K.
