Ok, here we go. IT'S A ****ING NEON! I don't care how much HP it produced. The Neon is a complete disaster. Nothing good ever came from a Neon. And your Blazer? Why would you take a truck that is somewhat decent and ruin like that? The 350Z is a good car though. I don't know why anyone would want to trade it for an Evo. I really don't give a **** as to why you traded the Z for Vibe.I understand that you don't like what people are doing to their cars on this forum. It's hard for me to believe that there isn't 1 mod here that you aren't interested in. I know that there happens to be a TRD supercharger for sale. Are you saying that you wouldn't want to supercharge your Vibe?I'm done participating in this thread and anything else that you happen to participate in while you are still on these forums before you get banned.

im aware its a neon, i called it that before you did. i even took the factory wing off and put a normal neon trunk on there and left the NEON badge on it! i liked the fact it was a neon, think about how vette owners felt when they got beat by a neon....it gave me a good laugh. the vibe is the lowest model pontiac made and so is the neon, so you dont really have a foot to stand on bashing a cheap car while driving a cheap car. as far as the blazer goes, it was a 2wd model that lived in atlanta. would it have been better to lift it with 35's LOL when it would never been taken off the city streets? that truck was super clean with almost a muscle car style look to it. i sold the Z to buy an evo because i was used to 400+ whp cars and to make that kind of power in the Z it would have taken a twin turbo kit which would have cost 10K+ and i didnt have that kind of money. with an evo you can make 400+whp with half the money it takes to do it in a Z. i never said there isnt one mod here im interested in doing, i found a guy that posted in the lowered vibe thread that has coilovers and the stance was really nice! i saw the SC for sale but its for a 1ZZ car. to be honest i dont think i would spend the money on a SC for my vibe. im not trying to make this car fast cause it would just be a huge waste of money. when i am ready for a fast car again ill buy an evo or a vette or something(but still keep the vibe for a daily, cause its awesome and i love it)

Ah yes, a good forum fight! Never uninteresting, these are! Each persons car is their own, and what they do is of their own accord, with their own money. If they wanted others opinions they'd ask. I'm paying for my Vibe, and my spare money goes to it too, since I love my car, want to show pride in it, and want it to look good. I don't do that fake scoop or vents thing because I think it looks cheap, but to each their own. If it enhances their car from their eyes, so be it. In addition to dropping it and getting a kit for it, I plan on doing the Ecomodder thing to it, so that's a big IN YOUR FACE to how much I care if you think its ugly. I think the later Vibe alloys are ugly, yet I don't criticize them. There are certain things on peoples Vibe's I don't like, but I try to appreciate it for what it is, and at least accept that it's there, and enjoy the car for it! To me, if the owner of a car changes the looks of it in any way to their preference, that is showing pride in their car because they car enough to try and be an individual, and not just 'another driver' out there. They don't want to be 'another C-class hatchback' on the road, they want to be 'that car' in the crowd. They want to be known for their car, and what they car has. In fact the thought 'Boy, that car looks gaudy and crappy with all that stuff on it, but good for the owner to show some pride in their car!' To each their own. You can't go half and half with that. Neon vs Vibe thing. Vibe is a much better car than other cars sold by General Motors at the time because it was built by Toyota. The Neon was just generally unreliable, and a big waste. Not saying every Neon was a bad car, but in general, they weren't very good cars. Judge as you will, just let it stay with you and not go on here.

Is the VOTY the best Vibe on the site? That's relative -- it's an opinion. Winners are chosen by a vote. The majority voted and a winner was chosen. It does not matter whether or not you like the car or think it was the best. It's really starting to sound like you're just mad that you didn't get nominated, because YOU think YOUR car is the best, or at least better than those who were.Acting like this is not a good way to get someone to nominate you in the future if that's what you're really getting at. (And regardless of what you might say, I think it is.)

Neons were awesome. But I bet it pissed you off that you had 400 zillion HP under the hood of that thing and still had to crank your own windows in the back. That's something where a lot of these Vibes have you beat. And I thought this was cheapest Pontiac made.

Ok. I've been putting this off but now it's my turn "not to understand:"To Chad,If I (or you) were in a room full of people, let's say 6 as a nice round number, and they were all of the same approximate age. And they had all grown up and lived in or near the same town/city/part of the country/part of the world, and they all said to me, "We don't like how you handle yourself or talk to us." I might say, well, they are all biased based on the facts that they are all from the same area. They are all "ganging up on me!!"But here, we have a unique situation: Many different people from various parts of North America (and Hawaii of course, HPL) all having different experiences and lifestyles, different interests and careers posting MADLY to point out to you the error of your ways with the hope that you will learn something from this experience and STILL you refuse to hear us. I am on a number of different forums and have NEVER seen a thread take-off like this one. It's not that you have an opinion, Man! We all have those. It's not that you have a temper. We all have one of those too, some quicker than others, but none-the-less.... What we are trying to say is that you CAN express yourself, but in society as a whole, some decorum is necessary. If you just blurt out everything as it comes to you, you will pass up many opportunities and lose many friends... including the potential ones here. The fact that you have managed to alienate so many people in such a relatively short time should be a clue. How would you feel if you hired an assistant for your studio and within 3 months was telling YOU how things should be, how they should look? That is all I have to say on the subject. Take it or leave it.

KITT222- and they will continue to do what they do, my opinion is just that. seams like i touched a lot nerves with this topic yet nobody has yet to say anything negative about the choices i have done with my vibe so far or the plans i have and will follow through for it. if they think riced out cheap mods enhances their car then they must also think michael jackson enhanced the looks of his face in the past 20 years as well. there are many things i have seen on this forum that are just plain ugly, im sorry there is no getting around it or making excuses for it.as far as the ecomodder thing goes, while it does make it very in your face and itsnt the best look i can respect it 100% because it serves a real purpose. the vibe is a much better vehicle than a base model neon by faaaaar!!! no argument there for me lol comparing a vibe to a SRT model non really isnt fair because they are two totally different class of cars so im not even going to go there. ou.grizzly- i will never grasp the reasoning behind people that put neon lights, fake hood scoops and gaudy decals on their paint. i will never understand that, because im not a ricer. Kari- i would be insulted if i would vibe of the month here because from what i have learned the general "taste" of the people here is not a good one. ColonelPanic- aint that some BS? dodge claimed they did it in the SRT to save on weight, yeah right. it didnt bother me, my car didnt have any backseats, it was stripped to bare medal from behind the front seats. i didnt buy it for luxury, i bought it to go fast for cheap and with less than $2000 in mod's i ran 12.9 on stock turbo. has there even ever been a 12 second vibe in existence? LOL if there hasnt i really dont care, like i said i didnt buy this car to go race it. i bought it for the good MPG and practicality.i NEVER said the vibe was crappy, i said it was an awesome car many times so stop putting words in my keyboard =P

06pvibe- i understand people are different but what is pleasing to the eye isnt effected by how you grew up. its about being able to see what you are looking at. no matter your age or experiences as a man you would rather marry carman electra than some random 400lb woman you met at walmart right? just like how no matter a persons upbringing i would think they would enjoy the look of a Ferrari F430 over the look of a ford escort right? some things should just be common sense that it is not going to be attractive. in the end if people want to spend their money on their car to make it look worse than it did from the factory then that is their choice. what michael jackson did to himself was his money and his face but i hope you dont think it was more attractive than how god made him.

Attractive, looks good, whatever...it's all relative, and it's all opinion. And we all know what those are like. And that everyone has one.You said earlier that you'd gladly do what kostby said except that now you wanted to see how this thread turns out. That sounds like trolling to me.What did you hope to accomplish by posting this thread? You've found out why some of your posts were deleted, and you don't like it. However, those posts aren't coming back, and so far you're on your own in the feeling that everyone else's car is garbage and yours is the best. Please improve the way you express your opinions and respect the fact that we are all individuals and just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is "wrong" or unequivocally ugly.

It's clean, it's a "safe" look, it is probably well-maintained. So?Also, I can appreciate mods that someone else did on their car without ever, ever wanting to do them for myself. This may be a girly analogy, but it's like seeing a dress on a mannequin that looks really cool as its own piece of art, while knowing that it would look terrible on my body. They're not mutually exclusive. And you still haven't actually pointed out "all" of these "ricey" mods that are "everywhere" on this site and why they are so "terrible." Flinging insults without citing sources- what are you, the American media? But seriously, that's not a proper form of argument. You've shown us one picture of a Vibe whom the rest of the community has actually already talked with the owner about re-thinking their design decisions. (Taking things out of context too? You should go write for the news! )I can respect people's opinions on what is or is not rice, and whether they think an idea is great, meh, or terrible, and I even don't care if you think my car is the crappiest piece of crap ever to crap (honest!) because it's not your car so you don't have to like it. And there is no such thing as common sense. At all. Don't pretend like there is. There is no common pool of knowledge that everyone embraces. Someone is going to disagree with you, somewhere. And in the land of Subjectivity called "How Stuff Looks" you don't even have something like science or research to back you up. And I say this as a professional at Seeing How Things Look, being a graphic designer with an art background. Ultimately it always comes down to your preference against theirs.

Kari- i had no motive for posting this thread except to voice my opinion. and just because a person likes what they have done to their car doesnt mean it looks good. ponta2147- they bashed the neon didnt they? oh we forgot about that huh? when my vibe is mod'd it will be respected by people who dont even like vibe's cause it will be executed with a plan in mind and with quality parts.i have pointed out a few different cars that have distasteful mods on them if you want me to toss on more i can run through the garage section if you want me to, there is a huge supply of rice in there. so you are telling me if somebody sat there and told you they liked the look of a 1989 ford escort over the look of a F430 you wouldnt think they are out of their mind? if you are a graphic designer then you should know how the human eye works and what is naturally pleasing to it and grasp the concept of a lot of these things that are called mod's around here are not attractive.

You're still missing the point. "Looks good" is an opinion. What you think looks good, I might think looks bad. What someone else thinks looks good, you apparently think looks bad. That does NOT mean you are right and they are wrong.I think this thread has outlived its usefulness.I'd also like to reiterate that there are other options:Quote, originally posted by kostby »Dear Mr. BurdetteWe're already fine with who we are here.
