04 Vibe front strut torque specs

Post by lebam »

Does anybody have the torque specs for the upper mount and lower mounts?

I have purchased a Monroe quick strut assembly but don't know what these should be torqued at. I read in other posts the upper mount should be 22lbs because the Monroe upper mounts break at 26lbs. Can anybody confirm this?

The lower mount I haven't been able to find anything on what these should be torqued at.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Torque in pound feet is the last number in each sequence. For example, the two bolts/nuts on the bottom of the strut are to be torqued @ 162ft-lb. As far as the Monroe top mounts, I've heard similar things. One of the reasons I've stayed far away from them. Anyway, hope this helps.

Edit: Not really sure why the quality suffered in the upload but it appears you can still make it all out.

Thanks for asking the question about front struts. I installed 2 loaded kyb today in 2 hrs. Off to get a front end alignment tomorrow.
