Steering Knuckle

Post by Megladon7 »

I'm having a problem with my '03, front wheel drive, manual transmission, vibe. I'm wondering if there were different steering knuckles for the various model years of the vibe/matrix?

Anyone know?

Thanks

2003 to 2008 - Base and GT use the same one, AWD is different because it has different suspension.
2009+ - ?

What is the problem you're seeing?

I'm replacing the CV Axle on the passenger side. Seems like the one I have from O'Reilly's is a little short. I was wondering if possibly the axle was the correct length but the knuckle just didn't match it. Check out the Scary Noise thread for more details and photos.

I have a second one on the way from Parts Geek. Waiting to see if they both match, or if the Parts Geek one is longer.

Thanks

See this thread, the OP talks about a problem they had with cv axle and steering knuckle:

Appears that the axles are different sizes between base and GT models. They may have given you the wrong one.
