LIFTING 2005 VIBE!!! NOT BIGGER TIRES...

Post by mango02 »

Could not find anything on lifting VIBE. Just want to raise it 1" or 2" DO NOT want BIGGER TIRES. Would like to raise suspension. Springs? Bushings? Blocks? All I see is LOWERING need to go up because of rough roads.

There's not really a simple way to increase height or travel without ruining the suspension geometry.

When you lower a VIBE you screw up the GEOMETRY. When you install different aspect ratio tires or size you screw up the GEOMETRY. Has anyone experimented and raised a VIBE? There is one RALLY VIBE did he use stock springs? does anyone make anything for a VIBE to make it TOUGHER, STRONGER? Does Toyota TRD make anything for a MATRIX Corolla? Skid Pan like VW makes for the JETTA?

Link to a thread on the Vibe:

Which ultimately leads to a link on a Matrix with the same suspension.

I have not seen an actual skid plate, but this is at least metal.

He is on stock suspension with a skidplate in front.

The rally Vibe has AWD front springs (AWDs are slightly raised) and 09 rears, though the spring rate in the rear may be a bit much for the lighter car. The skidplate is a custom plate of really thick metal. Next time I'm there I can inquire.
