I was driving very slowly in a rutted stone parking lot recently and hit bottom. I don't think I need to make my Vibe any lower.

Some on here have installed different springs to lower their Vibes. Never have heard of anyone cutting their springs.I personally wouldn't lower mine. I have the factory mud guards all around and have ground off the bottom of the front guards when cornering. Eventually I will have to replace the mud guards.

lower the vibe

Post by fchen7 »

nice looking vibe with s-tech spring ... few days ago, my 8-ys old nephew asked me why this car does not have sliding door (he think it's a van) ... i thought to myself .. damn ... i need to lower this vibe.i see vibe on this site with TEIN s-tech and h-tech; they all look the same. But S-tech supposed to lower the car more than H-tech ... do you like your s-tech spring ride much better than the stock springs ?does it bottom out easily .. ? or does the tires scratch the car sometimes ?fc

But S-tech supposed to lower the car more than H-tech ... do you like your s-tech spring ride much better than the stock springs ?does it bottom out easily .. ? or does the tires scratch the car sometimes ?fcthanx!it depends on how you like your ride to feel... with the s-tech and prob h-tech and other lowering springs on the market, the ride is not 'floating,' obviously, not like you're riding in a 72 buick electra, or even a minivan. the ride is tighter, the car doesn't roll when turning a corner, etc. it stays flat and just tracks around. that's the feeling i was going for when i got the springs.haven't bottomed out yet, and there's no rubbing of the tires in the wheel well at all. in terms of installation, many on the board have done it themselves and there might be a couple of 'how-to' if you do a search here. the car shop i bought the springs from did the installation.good luck on the search!

The s-techs are supposed to be about 1" lower than the h-techs. Also the h-techs are supposed to give a softer ride. If anything I noticed the ride on my h-techs is better than the stock springs. I did the installation of my springs with the help of my b-i-l. Could do it alone, but a second set of hands was really nice to have.

Here are a couple shots of mine when it was on S-Techs It was low, handled great but rode to rough for me. I think at the lowest point there was like 4" clearance under the car.

These Vibes all look really good! I'm thinking about an H-tech kit, but what other than the springs would need to be replaced? Has anybody had any issue if they just replaced the springs?
