I have been and always shall be your friend

Post by Caretaker »

Thank you Leonard for helping to bring the universe to us and reminding us that we are not at the center of it. Your passion inspired millions around the world to pursue a career in science and your role raised the spirits of those once fearful of being viewed as different. Few humans have done what you have done: taken one man's vision of a better future and modelling a way to make it happen. Well over a billion people on this planet would fill your name in to the following tribute: I feel very fortunate to have been alive at the same time as __________. You will continue living inside so many that it is impossible for you to ever leave us.

Paying tribute from the Delta Quadrant.

What a great tribute. Very kind words!

Count me among those who feel fortunate to have lived at the same time as he.

I was there for the very first Star Trek, I didn't like Capt. Kirk, Spock was my hero. His elegance on and off the screen is something that is very rare these days. "Live Long and Prosper", RIP LN

I wasnt alive for the initial season, but grew up on reruns during the 70s ( i was born in 72 ) My father was a big trek fan and so were ALL of my uncles :D I remember being about 7 years old and writing a paper on star trek and going on about how smart spock was  Who would have imagined a TV show would inspire so many people, but I remember my dad saying that people didnt understand it...it was too cerebral. You had to really be into sci fi. Truly amazing ! Live long and prosper 8-)

Yes, we have experienced the loss of a friend. My family really enjoyed the Star Trek reruns since I was too young during the first run. Actually Spock and Kirk were the first two celebrities I ever met. My mom took me to our local Toys R Us back in the 70s when they were on a tour. It was neat to meet such great and influential people and I will never forget it. LLAP
