Motorcylcle rear ends Vibe

Post by jake75 »

Wonder if Vibe owner was anyone here. Operating a motorcycle while intoxicated is really really really stupid.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in the northbound lanes of state Route 315 early Friday morning.
Columbus police officers responded to the northbound lanes of S.R. 315 at Lane Avenue on a report of a crash at about 2:20 a.m. Friday.
According to officers, Stratis Kostoglou, 27, was traveling northbound on S.R. 315 on a 2009 Honda motorcycle when he allegedly struck the rear of a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that was also traveling northbound.
Kostoglou was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Columbus police.
The driver of the Pontiac, 22-year-old Matthew Martin, was not injured in the crash.
Detectives say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The northbound lanes of S.R. 315 were closed until just before 7 a.m. Friday.

I agree, riding a motorcycle while intoxicated is real stupid. Intoxicated people do real stupid stuff. The brain is fully developed by the age of 25. In the last phase of development the ability to judge improves. He was 27.

His family and friends have to go through a lot of grieving. I feel sorry for them. The driver of the Vibe will deal with this shock for quite a while too.

It took them 5 hours to clean up that mess?

Do you think so :o Considering the time that this crash happened it certainly wouldn't surprise me. This poor Vibe probably didn't know what hit him. Some parts of 315 wind pretty good (Ohio State University area) and if on a bike doing 100 mph + you'd better hope that nothing stands in your way. This kid probably felt NOTHING when striking the Vibe. Let's hope he wasn't married or had any offspring. That would just make the healing process be that much harder.

Sad. Lived in Columbus for a while, after midnight it seemed that any four lane road turned into a drag strip. Getting off work at night in the summer, it was not uncommon to get dusted by one or more bikes on the way home. The campus area was even worse, everyone trying to one up each other.
