Government Shutdown! I get some Unpaid time off!

Post by BaseWhiteVibe »

Well I knew this was coming! So my wife (who also works for the Government) both showed up to work this morning. We will be signing out Furlough Papers and going home! At least I can repaint my trailer hitch!

It would be too easy to add comments that would have this thread moved to the political asylum, so I'll take a more upbeat spin

Congratulations on being financially sound enough that having unpaid time off is a good thing. Enjoy the time off!

Unpaid time off? Think of it as comp time to post projects to GenVibe!

You will get back pay... to further accessorize your Vibe

Reduce your digital cameras' resolution to "s" or 640X480. At least that is what I do with my Canon A530. Some Photoshop type programs can also adjust picture resolution down on existing photos.

Try a service such as Photobucket. That's how I post pictures to the forum.

Oops, Sorry I forgot to add that I have my pictures on a Photobucket Acct. in the "open to public" gallery! Then just use the GenVibe "img" post function and insert the pictures' "direct link" url.

I was confused. The current shut down is because there is no fiscal year budget appropriation 10/1/13 to 9/30/14. The money is there - they just can't spend it on programs that require approval. The next issue is the debt ceiling. At that point the money is not here. That is the more serious problem. There is plenty of blame to go around to both parties and to Obama.

Try using the img link instead of the direct or html. Also, when you upload to photobucket, set the file size to smaller than 1024.

Works pretty well for me.... Oh yeah, enjoy the time off!
