Stock Market

Post by jake75 »

OUCH!!! I am a buy and hold sucker - I mean investor. My losses in the past month would have bought any car I could possibly want. At least the govt. shares 30% in my losses as it is pretax money. It is still higher than it was in 2008. Thankful for that. Don't have to withdraw any of it until Dec. 2013. Maybe things will be better then. Wish I had a lot to invest now as I think this is just the nervous nellies who typically buy high and sell low selling due to panic. Obama must be crapping in his pants. He'll get the blame whether it is his fault or not.

Ouch is right. I've taken a pretty big hit too. I do have cash available to invest as well, but this episode may have further to run. We'll probably get QE3 to pump things up a bit longer (at least going into an election year).

Looks like the "change" was for the worst. I'm sure this will still be Bush's fault.

I'll admit, I laughedIf you were to watch the movie "Inside Job" you'd get a good look at what caused this, and mostly it was caused by the crooked folks at investment companies and banks. Sure, they could have regulated this, but lobbyists intervened. I still have yet to finish the movie, but it really is a good one. I've learned a lot.Things never go down forever, the market will improve in time for my generation to have to pay for it.

Presidents get too much blame when it's bad and too much praise when it's good. It's our fault for voting these clowns in office time and time again. They spend more money than we have then want to raise the credit limit. We have some hard choices coming up in the next 5 years.

Im not worried one bit. Im actually glad that stocks have taken a dip. That allows me to aquire more shares for the same amount of money I invest each month into my 401K. Its called Dollar Cost Averaging. Its one of 3 basic rules of investing. If you were in the market to buy a house wouldnt this be the best time to buy? If you were buying a car would you buy it on sale or full price??? Right now the stock market is ON SALE ! Dont let all the media hype scare you away. Its all drama and makes great news. Besides isnt all great news all negative?

A House divided cannot stand, as to quote a founding father. These clowns just about caused a major depression just because their views are slightly different. I'm ready for some major modification to the capitalist system. It'd also help if politicians wouldn't get paid so much. Give them the national average income. If anything, they might be a little crooked.

"dont blame me I voted for Ron Paul" Don't blame me; I voted for Paul Tsongas (as I do every election), and he's been dead since 1997. Oh why didn't the people listen to him in those days. He would never have let this happen. As a economist said recently, don't try to catch the sharpest knife in the drawer as it is falling to the ground. The US market is still the sharpest knife in the drawer and the market to be in compared to the rest of the world. However, we have quite a bit on the downside to go here. The next buying opportunity will likely be when the super committee is announced. If they put in a bunch of partisan bozos, run for the hills. If they put in Gang of 6 members, the market will shoot up like rocket on the news alone.
