Finally went to my first show of the summer. Caught a really good live band called the Decemberists at the LC Pavilion in Columbus OH. Good time, also went to the Hell City Tattoo Fest this past weekend (wife and I finally got to go on a grown-up trip, a rarity these days )http://decemberists.com/http://hellcity ... com/Anyone else seen any noteworthy bands/events recently?..

I just went to the NIN/JA show last week... Seen NIN a few times, but boy, was it ever cool to see Janes.. I grew up with Janes.. I still remember when Ritual came out... I must have listened to it for 6mo straight.. !!Seeing Perry up there adding his only little twists to the songs i've loved for so very long was amazing.. Almost brought me to tears at one point.. I saw Blind Mellon last year... Another one of the greats and the new singer, SUPERB... you could close your eyes and picture Shannon standing there, next to him, singing along.. it was amazing.. I got to meet Shannons mom to... !! My GF just found out about The Blue Man Group, playing a SMALL local casino show here on the 31st... We want to go SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad... decent seats are 165 for a pair of tickets.. so i'm not sure how it will work out.. I don't get to go to concerts like I used to.. I used to hit 2-3 a month when I lived in Buffalo..
Sublime, I saw the Blue Man Group's most recent show locally ($60 USD) and thought they were only OK. I'm sure glad I did not pay $120 to see them at the Venetian. I would caution you before going and paying that kind of money, keeping in mind that I am a big BMG fan. I personally want to take in half of the shows out at Humphrey's. I still can't understand (other than the beach location) how Humphrey's is able to bring in so many great bands. I'm dying for Tears for Fears to make it out to the Delta Quadrant, but there they are.....at Humphrey's. I personally don't consider San Diego the hottest music scene in the US but they sure are lucky they've got a great magnet like Humphrey's to draw them in.
Oh man Tear for Fears, that would be sweet.. lol.. Yeah, I miss Buffalo SOOOOOO much for the music scene, it was amazing... Just about every tour would stop there, not to mention all the small venue stuff... I got to see 7 Mary Three and The Tea Party in Rochester NY, in a BAR.. it was great.. I'd still like to see BMG, just to say I have...
mason is coming to town next month with slayer, job for a cowboy, bullet for my valentine, black dahlia murder, and a whole bunch more. sadly, doesn't look like the wife and i will be able to make it because it's on a wednesday.

I saw Queensryche last night in Clifton Park. They were one of my favorites in the 90's but I never got a chance to see them live until last night. They were awesome! 4 of the band members are over 50yrs old but you wouldn't have known it. They played for 2 1/2 hrs straight, no breaks. I'm blown away at how clean they sounded. CD quality sound all the way. If you like them or ever liked them, go see them if they play in your area. You will not be dissapointed. Note to hardcore fans: This tour covers 3 albums- Rage for Order, American Soldier and Empire. They do not play anything from Operation Mindcrime. They did play almost every song from Empire and it was amazing.
